“Perfect hotel in Rome”

We were given a room with a balcony which was really nice and the room was bigger than expected. We couldn't believe how quiet it was but as the hotel is set back from the road (which isn't a busy one anyway), it was really peaceful. The bed was big and comfortable and we both (light sleepers) slept really well. It was a 5 minute walk from the Metro which is really cheap and quick to use, so easy to get to all the sites. We were able to walk from Termini station to the hotel in about 15 minutes with a case. Don't take a taxi if you can help it - we were quoted 28 Euros!

We were recommended a restaurant at Number 46 in the same street which was really good and you get a 20% discount if you let them know that you are staying at the Galileo.

The staff were all very friendly, apart from the manager who could maybe take some lesons from his staff! In particular, the gentleman on reception (the one with glasses - sorry, forgot to ask his name!) was lovely, interesting and very helpful.

Breakfast was average but plenty of it. Only locals seem to be given the "real" cappuccinos, the rest of us had to make do with a coffee machine, which was a bit disappointing.

Overall, we were happy with the hotel and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: We were in Room 304 which had a balcony

“Average hotel too far away from the action of Rome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

This hotel was clean, but nothing special. It had the tiniest bathroom and strange shower which flooded the bathroom every time you used it. The area it was in felt quite safe, but there wasn't much near it so we really had to search for somewhere to eat. And it was too far out of the way to be able to take our little one back in the afternoon for a nap. The breakfast was very average not much to choose from-make sure the male manager makes your cappucino, the female waitress is lovely but makes a horrible one! We were charged to use the internet (something most other places we stayed at did not charge for). There is a couple of supermarkets close by for supplies. But overall this is nothing special just too far out of the main city.

“Very nice hotel, good value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

We have stayed at Galileo Hotel for 3 nights in March and had a wonderful time .The staff is very firendly, the room was ok, new furniture , very clean and the breakfast was very good .I would definetly recommend this hotel for those who want to visit Rome and pay a reasonable price for accomodation. The metro station is at 5 minutes away and in the area you will find a couple of restaurants where you can have a meal at a good price and also a discount for staying at this hotel.Very nice hotel!

“wonderfull city, very nice hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

We went to Rome for sight-seeing and it was great.
We had excellent weather, very nice hotel near the central station Termini.
We walked to the station and then took bus 64, wich crosses the whole town,
final destination the Vatican and in between you could go out and walk to
all the other highlights of Rome.
Nice hotel, nice people and very helpfull receptionist, i would defenitly go back
cause of the good rates they have,
Sandra the Netherlands.
