“Good small hotel”

Stayed here for three night Rome break - 30th November 2011 to 3rd December 2011.

Location of hotel is good. Close enough to the station but not too close as some areas closer by did seem a "little rough".
The street (Via Merulana) leads straight up to the Santa Maria Maggiore.
There are side streets coming of it with restaurants and cafes, also a nice little Irish pub that we drank in.

Each member of staff that we saw in the Hotel were friendly and helpful, had no problems on checking in and out. All spoke good English.

I was expecting the room to be exceptionally small based on other reviews but it was of a standard size. Minibar in the room (which I thought was cheap to how much you get charged in UK) and TV although no English channels.
Bathroom was very small as was the shower but spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was nice, nothing fancy but got everything we needed. Because it was winter the Roof terrace was not open to sit out and have breakfast but it was unlocked so could go out to have a look around and see the Colosseum in the distance.

All in all a nice small hotel, clean and friendly. If went to Rome again on a budget would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We requested a quiet room and were given one towards the back of the hotel which overlooked a small...

“Great for City Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Fantastic little hotel that is great for a city break. The location is second to none, 5 - 10 min walk to Station Termini, 5 min walk to Colusseum, beside stop for city bus tours and close to metro station. This hotel is very clean with friendly staff. The only complaint that I would have with this hotel is that it is not well signed and when we arrived we walked past it as we were on the opposite side of the street and didn't notice it! This hotel also has the smallest lift I have ever seen (taking 1 person at a time), not ideal when your room is on the 5th floor.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone

Room Tip: Rooms to the front of the hotel look out on a very busy road so imagine that this could be quite noi...

“Great Location for a good price!”

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of a vacation. This hotel is centrally located and it was very easy to find our way around Rome. If you plan on doing a lot of walking in Rome I suggest getting a real street map and not one of those tourist maps (they are missing a lot of the streets). The room was small but it was prefect for two people. Beds were comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful as well!

“Cozy and Friendly little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

"Little" is the operative word. The elevator is only big enough for two adults WITHOUT luggage or an adult with ONE piece of luggage. in-house breakfast cafe is not serviced by the elevator. This neat little hotel is cozy and staffs are always friendly. The Main Terminal is about a 10 minutes walk away.
The room is nice and clean, and understandably, the washroom is very compact but VERY functional. I would stay there again if I visit Rome again.

“Perfect spot for seeing the sights of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

We overnighted in Rome, arriving by train from Naples. The hotel is easy to find - and only about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. We had read previous reviews saying that they would recommend a room at the back of the hotel but our room was street side. Although it would be noisy if you had the window open, it was quiet when closed and the air conditioning was excellent. No noise from that. The bed was the most comfortable we had experienced in our 6 weeks away and the pillow soft.
The staff were extremely helpful and one gentleman suggested a good (not tourist) restaurant nearby which he rang and booked a table at for us. An excellent choice. I think it was called Nouve Stela. Lovely food and good atmosphere.
The breakfast was fine and although it was a little bit cooler, we enjoyed eating on the rooftop terrace.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor, road side and had no problem. No noise from air conditioning either.
