“A bustling artsy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This was a popular hotel especially for off-season – we were only able to book 2 nights as it was fully booked for the rest of the week. The room was tasteful – a clean fresh modern look with hints of retro. I really appreciated the detail they put into the décor – although perhaps they can update the television as that was the only piece that felt out of place. The front desk staff was extremely polite and helpful, and there was a computer for use in the lobby and complimentary wifi in the room. The breakfast had a lot of variety (eggs, bacon, cheeses, pastries, etc.), and there was plenty of wait staff to keep the cappuccinos coming. I didn’t mind the location at all -- while it was a slightly longer jaunt to Termini, it was quite close to the Castro Pretorio Metro stop. There were plenty of food options nearby including fine dining, family style casual, pizzerias, and other ethnic foods. I felt like it was very safe to walk around, although there is a “sexy movie” cine on one of the side streets. If there were negatives, it was the stuff that couldn't be decorated. The heat was difficult to control in the room, so we had to keep the windows open. The shower stall was also pretty small, and the pressure/heat was not always consistent. I would recommend that you request a room with a tub.

“An artistic experience with superb personal service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

One of the advantages of this hotel is its location. Ten minutes walk from Termini Stazione and three minutes walk from a fermata that gives access to most of the linea of autobus leading to most of the tourist sites. With a 4euro biglietto giornatale that covers all autobus linea and metro treni sevices for a day, with the superb public transport network in Rome one is within easy access of every where for a bargain price and travelling time is minimal ( I am not certain that atac drivers feed in to Ferrari but I would not be surprised).
The hotel has been treated to the sort of refurbishment that hints that no expense has been spared. I thought the reception area was impressive but when I saw the sitting room and the bedroom I was bowled over with the attention to detail. Wood strip flooring, contemperaneous telephones, radios and posters spoke of a love of period and a perfectionist outlook. The bedroom was slightly smaller than is consistent with the period but was immaculate and an artistic delight.
Breakfast was well up in the quattri stelli class; all the usual continental selection plus scrambled eggs and bacon for the Inglesi who cannot bear to be parted from their home comforts and the coffee was really good with waitresses asking you what you wanted within at most two minutes of your sitting down. The breakfast room was spacious and one never had to wait for replenishment of the jugs or the baskets.
Antonio , at reception, was delightful; ever ready to offer help, greet one cheerfully or even offer a small Italian lesson if one should ask. I f you like Art Deco, this hotel is worth a visit as an artistic heritage site; if not, the service and comfort makes a visit worthwhile anyway.

“Very good location and nicely presented rooms”

This hotel is a 10 minute stroll from Termini station and located in an area with plenty of convenience shops. The room was not huge but was nicely presented and clean. The shower was ok but not very powerful. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection on offer. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. I would definately stay here again if I return to Rome.

“Good Value But Not Close To Much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel ArtDeco the first five days of January 2012. The Good - the room was very clean, the staff was professional and helpful, the breakfast was nice and had lots of options. The Bad - the bed was rock hard, the bathroom had no counter space and the location is out of the way of most everything. Luckily, there is no "Ugly" to report. Bottom line - This is a budget hotel and if you want to have money to do other things while in Rome then this is just as good a place as any to lay your head. I did like the free WiFi during our stay. A tip though, this hotel is walking distance to the Basilica Santa Maria Degli Angeli. I recommend you make time to visit this site. Not hugely popular like St. Peter's but well worth the visit, one of the highlights of my trip. There is a stand-alone organ there that will amaze you!

“Updated hotel, poor beds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We stayed for 4 nights over New Years Eve Weekend. While the stay was not cheap, the rooms were clean, breakfast was good and for the most part, the hotel did not seem too crowded.

Sleeping was a little more difficult since the walls sounded like they were paper thin and the bed was really hard. We made it work but I think we would stay somewhere else because of this the next time we are in Rome.

Location wise, we really liked being a little further from the busy areas of Rome. There were a lot of great restaurants nearby and the area felt safe around the hotel.
