“Excellent location & excellent service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Service : Excellent. Manager Marco, Desire , Paolo, Natalya, Umbaldo and the Breakfast room staff were extremely helpful. They treated us like pampered guests. I traveled with 2 seniors, my parents. The staff was very accomodating.
It was sad to say goodbye after 11 days.
The room was dated. and could use a makeover. But it was clean and comfortable.
Location: V.Good. Although Stationze Manzoni was under construction, the busses were frequent. To the right of the hotel you catch the 118 / 119 from the basillica Laterano to get to the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza Popolo. Bear in mind that ALL transport be it car or bus can only go as far as the periphery and you must walk to these areas. Very accessible. The number 81 from the Laterano Basillica will take you to Trastavere as well terminate behind the Vatican Museum...very convenient! We found the Romans truly helpful ! Just lovely!
Best of all the Colloseum is a nice 10 to 15 minute walk. It looms as you approach it. Fanatastic!!!
Just past the Colloseum walk to Piazza de Venezia ..equally beautiful at night . The walk there is throught the Roman Ruins
Termini is very close by bus.
Chinese Take -out restr, cafe bar, gourmet pizza just outside the hotel. It is true that Roman Pizza is none like no other.

Room Tip: If noise bothers you then ask for rooms not facing the main street. Rome at night didn't bother...

“Great family central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Chose this hotel after reading reviews and wasn't disappointed. Although not cheap 130 euro a day, was worth it. The room was big enough for a family of four, the kids having 2 single camp beds and a large bed for us. The bathroom had a big walk in shower and a plentiful supply of toiletries. The room has a fridge which was useful in the summer heat. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of hot and cold food and set us up for the day. The hotel is outside the manzoni tube, although the line was being upgraded so took the bus to the Termini about 5 to 10 mins away. In the same time you can walk to the Coleseum past a curry restaurant we tried. We ate at the small piccola hong kong 50yds to the right of the entrance, where food can be had for 5-6 euros. The staff were helpful, getting our room ready with our early arrival. Bags can be left by the dining room, not totally secure, but nothing disappeared.
Overall comfortable base close to main attractions in a quiet neighbourhood. Some may find the lift a big on the small size and precious little chance of getting on the internet in the lobby.

Room Tip: room off the main road was quiet.

“Sensational location - a very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Hotel President was great. First the location: walking distance from the Colosseum and next to (5 meters) Manzoni metro station (direct link to the Vatican). The room: decent size with comfortable (memory foam) beds and really nice pillows (they even have a pillow menu which you can consult). Toilets are new and quite spacious. Also, there are large wardrobe with plenty of hanging space. TV is ok (I bet you will not watch a single minute of it - it's too many beautiful things outside to just stay in).
I didn't visit the restaurant - but I can tell that the services overall were great.

Room Tip: If you have a sensibility for sounds during sleep - ask for a room further away from the elevators.

Dear NeaZapada,
thank you for spending some of your time to write a review about your stay at our hotel. We have very much appreciated that you have mentioned the possibility to consult our pillow menu, which we believe is an important add-on but that, most of the times, seems not to be taken in account as it should.
Thanking you once again we are looking forward to see you soon.
Kind regards.

“Best Value 4* Hotel in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We got this hotel for €109 for two nights via Compare-Hotels.co (comparison site) which we felt was an incredible deal for a 4* Hotel.

The hotel is 10 seconds from Manzioni station (2 stops on the red line to Termini) and a 5 minute walk to the Colloseum.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were not up to much but were typical of Italian breakfasts since the 1950s - ham, eggs and a few mini sausages with pastries and toast available.

The room, was actually huge and luxurious, all the mod cons, really fast and powerful shower, free wifi and very clean room.

We loved it and I'm baffled as to the 400 ranking on Tripadvisor. Had I paid over €200 I would have less praise but for €109 for 2 nights 2 people = bargain.

Room Tip: We were allocated a great room and booked via Compare-Hotels.co

“WOW.....a fantastic break!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Stayed at 'The President' this week with my husband to celebrate my birthday in Rome. From arrival to departure the staff were most courteous and helpful. Room on the 4th floor overlooking courtyard was fantastic, spacious and spotlessly clean every day. Only ate breakfast in the hotel which was continental but plenty of choice.
Reception staff helped plan every day ensuring we saw what we wanted in the best way - travel and organised trips etc. We both love 'fish' and the restaurant recommended turned out to be 'Rome's best kept secret' - You will find 'Le Virtu in Tavola' by turning right from hotel entrance and then first right 100 m down the road - We have travelled plenty and always look for a fish restaurant, this has to be the best yet! Ended up going back on our last night as well...
Would like to say a 'huge' thankyou to the staff of the President for making my birthday a truly memorable break

Room Tip: Do your research - email in advance requesting a quiet room
