The "Olympic" Hotel was a happy surprise on arriving in Rome. It is in a pleasant residential area, fairly near the Vatican, the "hop-on-hop-off bus" line and three blocks from an avenue of restaurants with in-street seatings. Even using a cane I was able to negotiate the distances.

The friendly staff all spoke English, let us store our baggage in the office area until the room was ready, and made recommendations for dinner. Our air-conditioned room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, and the marble bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast was a buffet of pastries, fruit and eggs with great coffee and juices. I easily could imagine a distant time when "Papal palace" dignitaries called this home...

Stayed at this hotel for five nights, October 2011. Positives: Great location, clean, friendly and helpfull staff. Negatives: Rooms very small and in need of some maintainance. Shocking beds, had to change rooms after two nights as the bed springs made so much noise. Shower box very small. Booking stated full breakfast but far from it. Cereal, pasteries, cake and cold boiled eggs, no toast. Very dissapointed as have stayed in better and cheaper hotels in Rome.

I stayed alone at the hotel for one night in late October and have no complaints whatsoever. My room was very spacious, as was the bathroom, and both were clean and in good condition. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly- they all spoke English- and they let me leave a bag with them for the good part of a day, after I'd checked out. The included breakfast is an extensive buffet- no hot food but there was still plenty of choice.
The hotel is literally around the corner from the Vatican and is a convenient 5-10 minute walk from Ottaviano metro, making it easily accessible from Roma Termini. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome as good value for money.

Lobby furniture could stand a redo. It looks exactly as in the hotel website pictures but just 10 years older!
No issues with noise. Mechanical blinds on the windows.
Just a few feet from a market and around the corner from shopping. 10 minute walk to the Vatican Museums. 15 or so minutes to Ottaviano.Metro station so easy enough to get to the amazing Roman sites.
