“Location is everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

Stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions, both been fine, yes hotel is slightly dated and in UK would not be 4 star, but this is Italy, and rooms area smaller and I would take 1 star off everything you look at. Staff very helpful and cheerful. We have had rooms on the side of the hotel, where there was a bit of noise from the Irish pub below, but didn't disturb our sleep, second visit we had room on front of the hotel on third floor, with lovely views. Would definately reccoment this hotel for location, easy to get everywhere from here.

“Not bad At All”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

While the Hotel itself is in OLD Rome and rather historic in it's location-The internal furnishings could use a little freshning up-with that said...the charm of the place definitely evens that out.

Small elevator to other floors within the hotel but charming little alcoves as well as interesting hangins, fixtures and decorations make it rather charming-lots to look at while eating a decent but definitely lacking "continental" breakfast (food was okay-small selection and our cocoa (out of a machine) had dead ants in it)....

The beds were small by US standards as well as the room but more than adequate for me, my parter and teenage we had with us. The bathroom was crowded but once again very adequate for people who are NOT there to spend their trip sitting in a hotel room.

Noice-well noise is noise and you get it no matter where you are-i had NO problems with hearing randomly other guest (it happened but didnt keep me awake) nor did traffic sounds awake us. We did often hear ambulance or police ar sounds but the way the city is built..you hear those from MILES around and it was definitely not a distraction...

While most of the desk staff was pleasant-there was one or two that could use a crash course in plesantness....but once again we were not their to socialize with the staff...we were there to see the sights which we did and we LOVED it!!!

I would say this hotel is a 3.5 star and while not what you might expect being from the US it is not bad for the price nor the location nor it's accomodations!!

Good location. For everything else not memorable : the hotel needs to be "refreshed" and does not seem to deserv four stars.

“Fantastic, friendly hotel, excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2010

just returned from a weekend in Rome, absolutely fantastic hotel, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location was excellent about a 10 minute walk to the Coloseum and Trevi Fountain. Looking at other hotels in the area I was really glad we chose this one as the location was fanatastic. As with many city hotels, you could hear traffic noise but you soon got used to it! Rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast was croissants, pastries, rolls, cereal, yoghurt, tea, coffee, fresh orange juice. I would definitley recommend this hotel.

“Great hotel in the heart of Rome, a stone throw from Piazza Venezia!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

Ive stayed at this hotel many times and have always been impressed. The price includes a buffet breakfast downstairs. Its simple but includes amazing fresh croissants and pastries... I think my partner ate one of every kind as they came out freshly baked abour every 10 mins! When staying at this hotel you need to do the usual tourist things because they are all so close.. i.e 5mins walk to Fountain of Trevi etc.. AND another must is to an ice cream at "Giolitti" and dinner at "Da Gino's" both are near the Parliment house (just walk around a bit in little lanes and side streets and you will find them.) Its so worth it. You will be inspired to write poetry after eating at Da Gino's! I thought my partner was going to break into song!! Its quite rustic and very inexpensive but your taste buds will be dancing! The waiters are all very entertaining too. Its very laid back, very Italian. Language is no barrier, just smile and let them know what you want (I recommend the involtini!!!) Anyway, Ice cream.... I missed an awesome photo opportunity at Giolitti where I spotted a young priest licking madly at this melting ice cream... its where the locals have there gelati!
