“A home in Rome...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

We found this hotel through friend recommendations...2 sets of couples from our hometown in Canada had stayed here a number of times. I went through the website before booking, and I feel that the hotel's site accurately reflects reality. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave...their air conditioners worked. The modest breakfast was lovely...the owner makes fantastic espresso...and the hotel common areas are very warm and welcoming. The owner went above and beyond - staying up late to let our young-adult children in after lock-up, booking us a great deal on a taxi to the airport, and advising us on directions around town. It's a (longish) walk to the Vatican and the Colosseum, but otherwise the hotel is situated perfectly for a walking stay... the tram is about 200 metres away...and there's outstanding architecture and restaurants immediately nearby. Best of all: the staff and owner are charming, friendly and knowledgeable. I'm staying again this coming spring...which motivated me to finally write this review.

“ok hotel, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2011

The hotel itself was okay. We had a suite at the top of the hotel, literally the top. We took the elevator to the top floor and then had to walk up a flight of stairs to get to our room. The room was basic, comfortable, definitely not luxury. Kind of pricey for what you got, however, all the hotels in Rome are pricey. They did include breakfast in the price of the room. That was convenient, but the breakfast is nothing exceptional. Some of it was rather bland, but its nice not having to start your day searching for food, so I appreciated the convenience. The location of this hotel was perfect. The hotel is on a quiet cobblestone street with a lot of character and is only two minutes away from all the hustle and bustle of Trastevere. Trastevere is a college/young professional area with a very lively night lift. The bars and streets were filled until all hours of the morning. It was very nice to be able to walk everywhere among the locals (most of the tourists opt to stay near the Colleseum). If I go back to Rome, I would definitely stay in Trastevere, but I may look around for other hotel options. Overall, not a bad option.

“Great/trendy location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

My sisters and I stayed here on our first trip to Rome and the hotel was in a great location in a trendy area with restaurants and bars in the neighborhood and convenient walking distance into the heart of the city. The room was basic but big enough for our needs. The only hiccup was a broken hair dryer in our first room so we were moved to another. We'd definitely stay in this location again.

“They lie on their website”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2010

The hotel was ok. The staff was friendly enough. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. However - BEWARE - they LIE on their webpage. They say each room has a fridge and security safe. This is simply NOT TRUE. I have no way of knowing how long they have been luring travelers with this phony webpage - but we were they in January 2010 and they had neither a fridge nor safe in any rooms.
I would probably not recommend this place to someone, it's probably a little overpriced for what you get. It is in a pretty good location - minutes from the Trastevere train station and Campo/Pantheon/Argentina area by tram. Just don't expect to find what they claim to have.
