“Great liocation BUT....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

Great location, very clean, apparently nice staff. But
-The breakfast is really awful and not at the level of a 3 stars hotel at 140€ per room - not a single fresh fruit, industrial marmalade, butter and cheeses, dry bread, poor tea. Only coffee and cappuccino are acceptable.
- Neither the fridge nor the safe were functioning
- I had the room with a terrazzo, the window was left open a whole day, and I was robbed but I noticed it only once I had left. They said they were not responsible and refused to do any effort to made an enquiry. Very disappointing.

We stayed here for 5 nights and have no complaints at all. The location is perfect, the room was lovely, the staff were helpful and pleasant. A really lovely place to stay and we will stay here again on our next trip to rome.

“Crazy!”

The only word that comes to my mind tinking about my experience with this hotel is crazy! At first I found the hotel great (thoug not to clean), but we soon became victims of the extremely bad managment. Looking back I can't do nothing but laugh. It was like a stay at Fawlty Towers (but without the carm). The hotel is obviously very bad managed and probably illegitimate (tax fraud).

I think the greatest help anyone can give Italy is not staying at a hotel like this.

“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2011

great location in Trastevere section of Rome - great restaurants nearby. Rooms are small but adequate; bathrooms are very tiny. Breakfast is average.

“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2011

Where to start ... I travelled with a group of colleagues and we booked (and got our booking confirmed by the owner) our single rooms in advance. When we arrived the owner had forgotten all about it! We were squeezed into whatever he had left of rooms, two or three people in each room. I really enjoy the company of my colleagues, but this is outrageous. The owner took no responsibility for the situation and blamed it all on us. He was very rude, and loud. The next day we spent working at an other location. When I and my "roomies" came back and locked ourselves into the room all our stuff was gone and obviously someone else stayed there. Several others in our group experienced the same, and others came back and found their door opened with the key in the lock ... Again, the owner took no responsibility. He had no explanation for why he had given our rooms to someone else. Luckily the very nice maid had packed our stuff and locked it up until we came back from work. And about the open doors ... owner blamed the staff. " I am wise, you are wise, but others ...." he said. So we had to spend our free time trotting around Trastevere trying to find rooms in other hotels, luckily we did. But of course ... no discount at hotel Cisterna for our trouble, no apology, no nothing. And not to mention: In Italy as a foreigner you have to pay a tax of two Euros cash per night to the state when you are staying at hotels. As the owner at hotel Cisterna explained to us: "If you pay the tax I can give you a receipt on your stay, if you do not pay the tax, i can not give you a receipt" I'll leave it up to the readers to figure out what this means, but none of the other hotels our group used had the same "arrangement", there was no option not to pay the tax. The owner never checked our pass boards or noted the pass board numbers, as he is obliged to do. My only credit goes to the maid, who did her best and obviously felt very embarrassed on behalf of her employer.
