We stayed 3 nights at Domus Aurelia with our kids in august 2007. While the affordable price let us have 2 rooms and bathrooms which is more confortable than being 4 persons in a fancier hotel, I must say that we did'nt find the location very practical. A taxi from the trainstation costs 25 euros. The bus no. 46 which stops at the hotel should come every 20 min.can sometimes be expected for over an hour and in thoses cases, is overpackked with angry and sweaty people. The subway station is at a 10-15 min. walking distance from the hotel but you must realise that you have to walk on a highway to get there. I do not recommend that hotel to those who like to go back to their room during the day, it is just to much time on transports. I guess it's fine for those who leave the hotel in the morning and come back to sleep. Be aware that you cannot really go anywhere by foot from that hotel, which is on a very busy street with a 1 person wide sidewalk and surrounded by residential buildings. (no restaurants in the aera.)There is though a little food store next to the hotel where you can buy water and sandwiches if you want to eat on your balcony, listening to the trafic.
Other than that, the place is clean, you can have breakfast on the site and the people are friendly. There is a lack of decoration that one should expect when travelling in a religious establishment.
