“Fantastic Break in Roma!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a long weekend back in April 2011. It was our first visit to Rome so we did not know what to expect. I can safely say when we arrived at the hotel our expectations were fulfilled. The hotel is very quaint, lovely little lounge/bar to relax and have a drink. The room was lovely - rustic and authentic. The view over St Peter's from the room and restaurant was simply breathtaking and quite overwhelming. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The wine we were served was one of the best I ever tasted! Location wise very easy to get around with metro stop within easy walking distance. Walk to central Rome took about 20 mins which is great as you take in all the stunning views. We hope to return to Rome and we would stay at the Atlante Star again.

“Uncomfortable rooms gussied up by velvet walls”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Claims to be a four start hotel, but is really a three star by normal Italian standards. Fancy wallpaper and velvet curtains do not really make you comfortable. Beds small and excruciating, bathrooms just average, staff not quite up to par. Breakfasts are awful by normal Italian standards. Location is very convenient to Vatican. The next time we are in Rome, we will stay somewhere else.

“Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Our booking was for the B & B associated with the hotel but when we arrived we were given a room at the hotel. Our room was small but provided all we needed for our 3 night stay. Who hangs around in a hotel room anyway?? The staff was helpful, providing an electrical adaptor and booking our Vatican Museum tour. Breakfast and the dining room view were magnificent. We appreciated the location near the Vatican and the Fiume Tevere. Following the river gave us a focus to locate the sights we wanted to see. We arrived from Termini on the #60 bus and spent a few moments trying to locate the hotel-directions could have been better.

Room Tip: our room was on the main street and traffic picks up early in the morning.

“convenient airport pick-up and well serviced rooms-margo n ireland”

Have just spent a very enjoyable 3 night break here.Good location beside Vatican. arrived at airport at 10 pm at night so the airport pick up service was very convenient , we were at the hotel easily within half an hour of arriving at the airport and we had no hassle getting there. A porter carried our luggage to our room .the room was small but very comfortable with a very powerful jacuzzi bath and shower, minibar and windows that open with good wooden shutters to keep out early morning light and noise. What I liked most about this hotel was how well the room was serviced every day, very clean and towels etc replenished daily. Will consider using this hotel again!
