We were welcomed by Francisco, who knew our hotel owner. He took charge of our Wedding Anniversary celebratory meal. Like others on arrival, we were given a glass of Italian Sparkling Wine.
The restaurant was busy with what appeared, to our untrained eyes, as business people of significance and the occasional politician or journalist. Nevertheless, the service was both friendly and impeccable. The ambiance of the restaurant was formal but had the relaxed air of a well run establishment (similar to The Ivy in London it that regard).
We followed our waiter's suggestions and had a series of wonderful selection of appetizer dishes, including carpaccio of sea bass, oysters, and raw shrimp. The white wine, again chosen by the waiter, proved excellent and just right for the food. Our main fish course was delightful as was the desert, that came complete with a little bride and groom statue. This was followed by a complimentary glass of something from the liqueur end of the spectrum.
Overall the meal was as good a fish meal as I have ever had, and the bill did not make my eyes water. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Booking essential.
