Desiderio di Roma was the perfect place for us. It's just outside the super touristy areas of Rome, but close enough that you don't feel out of place as a tourist and can easily walk to the attractions. A Metro station is also about a half block away, and it's only 1 or two stops to the sites.
Sergio, the B&B owner, is extremely warm and helpful. We arrived in Rome late at night and he arranged for a private car to pick us up from the airport, for a reasonable price. Because it is a little hard to find (as most B&Bs seem to be in Rome), this was the perfect way to arive at the B&B. We also ran into a problem with the next hotel we were staying at and he stepped in and helped us find a new hotel!
Our breakfast was actually at the little cafe downstairs. You just walk in and say you're staying at the B&B and they'll give you one coffee drink and a pastry. It was also great that we were able to use the computer in the entry way at our leisure.
One bit of caution for those who may not like tight spaces: the shower in our room was extremely small. We didn't really have a problem with this, but a larger-than-average-sized person will literally not be able to get in!
We definitely recommend this B&B and would love to come back next time we're in Rome!
