The title above says it all. The location is very close to the train line, which is just 10 minutes from the main Rome airport in Fiumicino. It is no frills, but great value.
We approached the gate to the condo complex in which the B&B is located. I rang the bell and Massimo buzzed us in and met us soon after. He showed us into the room, and while giving us our FOUR keys, assured us how safe the area was. (Both common themes throughout our stay in Italy) We got our key to the condo complex gate, key to the condo gate, key to the building (which has 2 rooms), and key to our room.
Within short walking distance is a pizza chain, gelato and pastry place (recommended!), post office, Home Depot type place, an ethnic restaurant (Indian?), and a Tabachi. No restaurant, but the pizza was good by American standards, just OK by Italian.
Breakfast was simple but good, and kindly provided very early since we were catching a morning flight out.
The room was fine but simple: cable TV, Queen bed, decent bath. The bed was very low to the floor - an issue if you have trouble getting up and down. First level so no stairs and easy access. The condo complex was quiet, no complaints at all about the area. We kept our window open and still noticed no noise. Truly non-touristy in a suberb of Rome. The short train ride to the airport cost 5 Euro though - a rip-off for such a short ride.
Overall, great stay, no complaints. Thanks, Mossimo!
