“Modern hotel, but you pay for internet...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Very elegant, clean, rich breakfast, transportation to the subway is very helpful, courtesy of the staff served us.Everything was of grade 10, less kindly of staff at reception.Maybe my English is not very good, but''complimentary''means ''gratuito'' or ''in omaggio'',in italian. So then you have to pay ,if the room facilities that the Internet is ''complimentary''?In my opinion four star hotel should offer internet included in the room price.

“Not exactly central, but what a great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Ok, this place isn't exactly in the centre of rome but I was aware of that when booking, so knew what to expect. What I had hoped for, but didn't expect was fabulous rooms, extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff and great food.

I had read a few reviews that said how far out it is and how long it took to get to the attractions, but in reality it's not that bad. The hotels minibus has you at the the Rebibbia metro station in a matter of minutes and then it only takes about 15 minutes to get to Termini. The trains do get very packed but, as Rebibbia is the starting point for the line, we always got a seat. On the way back, it wasn't always the case but, there was normally seats by the time we reached Turbitina and it's not that long anyway. As a side note, I observed that Romans are very good at giving up their seats for the elderly, women and anyone else that looks as if they may be struggling.

The hotels restaurant was staffed by great staff that served fantastic food. Apart from breakfast we only ate there once for an evening meal (only because we was out all day and ate wherever we was), but it was great. We took advantage of the set meal, which was 3 courses, bread, wine and water for only €19 each.

The hotel itself, was always spotelss throughout and all staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was absolutely spotless and kept that way everyway by the very friendly housekeeping staff. Although there is nothing much in the immediate area it didn't affect us at all, and to be honest a lot of the rest of Rome is a bit dingy looking - apart from the sights of course.

If I have any critism, it's that there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms (as I like to have a cup of tea before going down to breakfast and in the evening), but I brought a travel kettle and got supplies from the supermarket across the road.

I would have no hesitation in staying here again.....Enjoy!

Room Tip: Can't say, ours was great and although on the 5th floor, there is 3 lifts so we never had to wai...

“Do not need worry about distance but stung in the room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

I stayed here for three nights. It is not easy to get here from the Fiumicino airport. It is easy to find airport shuttle bus outside the terminals. It costs 8 Euros for single trip and 15 for anytime return. It spent around one hour to Termini (looks like central train station). But you can have a look Roma in bus. From Termini, you can take metro line B to the terminus Rebbibia station. According to the guide in the hotel website, the hotel shuttle bus will take you to hotel in every half hour (15 and 45 in every hours until until 10.45 pm). The pick point is just outside the station (in front of a clothes and shoes stall) But It is not always on time.It would spent around 10 mins to the hotel by the shuttle. It seems to be a safe place to stand outside in night. When I reached the hotel, there were a tourists group waiting for checking in.The hall is full of people. The receptions was busy at answering phone I wait for a while for checking in.

The room is as good as other review saying, very clean, big bed, comfortable mattress. But I was stung in the room. Later I found two mosquitos hiding in room.

Anyway, do not need worry about the distance to city center. You can take shuttle bus to the Rebbibia station in every 30 hours (it is always on time to leaving the hotel) and then take metro line B to every interesting place in Rome in less than one hour. Rome is not a big city. It is only need one min between each stop in metro line. If no mosquitos, it would be a perfect hotel, especially comparing its price to others.

“Modern hotel, far from things to do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

The hotel interior is very modern with updated amenities. The hotel restaurant was very good for both breakfast and dinner. There is Wi-Fi in the rooms, although you may need to pay for it. There were options on the TV to watch some shows in the original language (English, for example). The downside is the location. It is far from the city center, so you will need transportation to visit landmarks.

“Comfortable hotel located far from the Rome city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

For my first visit to Rome I decided to book this hotel after reading the positive reviews in tripadvisor and also considering the very nice price in comparison with the other hotels in Rome. To reach the central Metro station aka Termini from the Leonardo da Vinci aiport (Fiumicino), one may have three options: Taxis (quite expensive 50 Euros flat-rate), Express train (very slow train which costs 14 Euros/person) and the shuttle bus service (4 Euros/person or 8 Euros when you buy the ticket inside the bus from the driver). From Termini you should walk approx. 10 min. to reach the metro platform Line B proceeding to Rebbibia station. The information in the hotel website mislead us by stating that we should get off at Ponte Mammolo which we did and no shuttle minibus was there to pick us up. It was hard to find out how to reach the hotel and nobody was picking up the phone at the hotel to answer. Somebody there helped us to ride the bus line number 508 (you can also ride the bus line number 451) and get off approx. 500 m. away from the hotel. Finally after 2 hrs. we reached the hotel. Upon checking I found lots of tourists from South East Asia waiting to be checked in. I asked the receptionist why they there was nobody to pick us up and he said that the pick-up plan has changed for some months and it is done from Rebbibia instead of Ponte Mammolo every 30 min. from 8 am until 10.45 pm. The check in was hassle-free and we got the key to the room. The room looks stylish, nice beds, clean bedsheets, very thick curtains, safety deposit box, a fridge and air conditioned. The toilet and the shower is spotless and very clean and it was interesting to find a bidet as well. There is nothing fancy about the room but it's quite small. The breakfast is adequate with lots of choices (especially cakes) and a nice coffee machine. I asked if they have free wi-fi available and the guy at the reception gave me the password to use. The internet speed is acceptable in the morning time but drops dead during night time. There is a branch of Auchan (hypermarket) in front of the hotel which is useful for buying stuff.

To sum up, I enjoyed staying in Roma Z3 (Idea Plus) hotel and the only negative point was the distance to the city center which should be considered.
