The room was stinking with stange smell. The location is excellent. Service was nice. The room was clean and breakfast was poor.

We've stayed for three weeks and it we had the most pleasant time in this hotel. Excellent service, excellent facilities, it's well connected, buses, subway, within walking distance of the Vatican. The staff is warm and welcoming, it's like being home. I highly recommend it.

Positives are location, spacious room, well appointed, faced quiet interior courtyard. The major negative and reason I can't recommend this B&B was a terrible smell in the bathroom, possibly an issue with the drains/sewer, but made the trip to the bathroom dreadful. We kept the window open, which helped a little. Unlike other guests, we were in room 6 which had a long hall down to the bath, but it was ensuite so no issues there. If it were just off the bedroom, the smell issue would have been impossible. Breakfast was just okay, but would rather have voucher to a cafe/bakery. Bed was very firm/economy, but livable. I was also disappointed that we never met host Michelle during our three night stay and expected more "ownership" in a small B&B situation. B&B was run by a young lady who was helpful and we certainly were not going to give her grief. My husband actually helped fix the internet connection and she was very appreciative. It could be a good value if the drain/sewer issue were solved, but until then, steer clear of room 6.

My wife and I just returned from Italy this week from our honeymoon. We arrived at Cicerone 28 on Aug 19th. Michelle greeted us and immediately told us that we had to stay at their sister B&B because the bathroom wasnt working. I was very skeptical about this because it seemed pretty ironic that it happened the day we arrived so be careful. The first night was awful! We slept on a bed that was basically a cot and a hard cheap mattress. It was so miserable that we complained and to Michelle's credit she gave us another room. The bed was much softer, however there was the smell of smoke in the room nonstop due to the huge vent in the corner. My wife can't stand the smell so we had to cover the vent with a blanket. The room was right next to the street and was very noisy, had we stayed in the original cicerone, this would most likely have been avoided because its on the 5th floor. We were there 4 miserable days and it made our Rome experience a lot less enjoyable. The staff however was as helpful as could be when Michelle was not around. We could not wait to leave this place. Make sure you don't stay at their sister B&B if you plan to stay here.
