“Nice and clean place in a residential but still very central area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Rovati Guesthouse offers really good and basic accomodation for your stay in Rome (especially if you can get a good price). The rooms are located in a nice residential building just a few steps away from the Lepanto Metro Station. You can easily walk there and have good access to other parts of the city via Metro. If you like to walk, St Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo are reachable within 15-20 minutes. We even walked to the Trevi Fountain several times.

The room is nice and clean and equipped with air conditioning (if you stay in Rome during the summer, you'll definilty use this!). We had a closet, so storing our suitecase was no problem. The bathroom seems to be quite new. Everything was working fine and the shower had great water pressure. My only complaint would be the spring mattress..it was quite hard and therefore not so comfy to sleep on.

The breakfast you get are packed croissants, crackers and some juice. I would recommend to eat somewhere else. The minibar is reasonably priced (1.50 Euro per drink). There is free wifi, but the router was switched of most of the time. I don't know if we were the only people staying in the guesthouse, but it was very quiet (which I enjoyed).

All in all, I would recommend this place. Just keep in mind, that this is a Guesthouse and not a hotel. You're room get's cleand once a day but there is no reception/no other service. If you keep that in mind, it's a nice option for your stay in Rome!

“Basic and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

The guesthouse was in a residential building which was really nice to be part of rather than a hotel. Room was okay size and bathroom very clean. However was always dark unless you opened shutter windows fully. Would recommend as a basc room to stay, nothing fancy and one step up from a hostel. Breakfast is some crackersa nd small juice containers and a prepacked croissant left in room.

Our biggest issue was we were due 15 euros change when we arrived and paid and although this is not a huge amount we were promised it would be left in our room 3 times and it never was so we were short changed this and brings up issue of honesty in the staff working there as we were left no way to contact and there is never anyone there. Does this happen to other guests too?

“Clean, friendly, fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2011

Great value for money considering where it is. Room was basic but very clean and modern. People couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful!
Well worth the 5 stars. Don't pay any more for a fancy hotel, stay here in a nice simple room, go out for breakfast and enjoy the sites!!!

“Amazing location, newly renovated and very friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2011

I had stayed already at Via Duilio at it was already very good, clean and well located. This time I went for the beatification of John Paul II and stayed at the Rovati guest house at Piazza Cavour. Only 2-minute walk from Castello St. Angelo and 10-minute from Saint Peter.

Its big, renovated and tastefully-decorated rooms are amazing, a 4-star hotel room. The owner is really friendly and helpful. They make you feel at home.

No breakfast, but there is a Trattoria and a very nice cafe just in front of the guest house.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

Our stay at the Rovati Guest House september 2010 was nothing but excellent .We were 20min walk from the Vatican , Shops and eatery's. BUT in Rome you most certainly need a metro pass!
The Rovati family was friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!
