We needed a large apartment for 9 people (4 couples and 1 extra person) and this B&B / accommodation was just right. (It looks like the unit could be seperated into 2 smaller units if needed). We had constant communication with the owner Caterina by email and she dealt with every question professionally and in a timely manner. (also...after we left the apartment we thought we had left some photographs there and she tried to locate them for us ).
We arrived in Rome by train to Termini station, and tried to get a taxi. However the taxi drivers seemed reluctant to take us with all our luggage and stated it was a short walk (we had lots as we had just got off a cruise ship in Venice). Due to this we decided to walk. We managed to get to the location no problem but with all our luggage I think it would have been better by cab....Anyways we were met on arrival by the friendly cleaner and she let us in and showed us all we needed to know. We did have to pay the balance by cash on arrival (as stated in a previous review) but that was ok, as we were told ahead of time by Caterina.
As for the apartment. Spacious with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, clean and modern. The kitchen was slightly small, but that was ok as we did not intend to do much cooking. Breakfast supplies were left for us, but remember this is not N.America, they concentrate on the Continental breakfast. There is no service it was help yourself, but we were happy with that, in our minds we were renting an apartment. Cereal and milk, juices, tea, coffee cookies etc were left for us. If you are looking for a cooked breakfast head down the road a couple of blocks to the restaurant called Y. Its actually a youth hostel but it has a sidewalk restaurant, free internet, and will serve hot food. There is also a great coffee bar right outside the door of the apartment which was very convenient. If you need groceries a store is a 2 minute walk away.
The bedrooms were great with lots of room and cupboard space. There was air conditioning in the bedrooms which was nice as it was quite hot and muggy. There was free wifi internet, a real bonus and necessary evil these days. There are 4 bathrooms. 3 are adjacent to bedrooms so during the night the 4th bedroom shared one of the bathrooms for convenience. The 4th bathroom was adjacent to the kitchen, contained a full bath (I think Jacuzzi) and was very clean and new looking.
There was a large living room with doors that opened onto a small balcony. We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on it overlooking one of the embassy gardens. There seems to be a lot of embassy 's nearby in this area of Rome.
The location of the apartment is ideal and is a short walk to the 'blue' subway line ( 3 to 4 minutes). Termini station about 7 - 10 minutes. A couple of times we took a taxi to the coloseum area that cost about 9 euros. When we discovered the subway it was more convenient / faster and cost 1 euro each for 75 minutes time period or 4 euros for the day.
Anyways the apartment was ideal, in a good location, clean, modern, the cleaning lady was friendly and helpful and I will recommend this unit to anyone.
