“Almost perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

Location was convenient, staff helpful and they spoke good enough English. The hotel was spotlessly clean and luxuriously decorated. The view from the room window was lovely and, with only 7 rooms or so, the hotel is very cosy.

You have to look carefully for it as it's on the second floor of a townhouse. The street doesn't inspire too much confidence, being across the road from a porn cinema and next door to a now-closed "disco sexy" called No Limits. But it was fine, we had no trouble in our three nights there.

It's close to both the main Termini train station and another metro station called Castro Pretoria so getting around is easy. The Colosseum is about a 20-25 minute walk away.

My only gripe would be the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room but everything else was spot on.

“Very good hotel, fair price and nice staff”

Very good hotel, in a nice italian neighborhood. The staff was very kind, the room was perfect and clean. Easy to take bus to all over the city. I totally recommend.

“Instead of a Capitolium Room, we got a Crosti appt.”

We booked the Capitolium Hotel @ expedia.com, we got the 5th night for free! We had picked this hotel so carefully. When we got there, the receptionist took us outside, to another hotel! The Capitolium Hotel was fully booked en we got an appartment of another hotel (Crosti hotel). The appartment wasn't situated in the hotel, but some blocks away. We got more space, it was closer to the metro and the appartment got cleaned every day. We had the possibility to get breakfast in the Crosti hotel. There are so many tourists in Rome, if you want to go sightseeing, go early in the morning. We took our breakfast on our way to the sightseeings and not in the hotel, because it would take to much time. We had to walk a few blocks to the Crosti hotel, have breakfast and walk back to the metro.

Overall it was pretty good, but it wasn't the Capitolio Room which we picked very carefully.

“Strange mix of good and bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Despite booking 2 weeks in advance, arrived to find that they could not find my booking for more than one night, so was uncerimonously (and with no sign of apology) moved to their sister "hotel" (no way either is a hotel) down the road - to boot they asked me to carry a bag of towels with me as a favour!

That said, the place was very clean and quiet, everything worked, and I had a very pleasant view from my room out the back over a large garden with palm trees. Breakfast was very perfunctory as is typical of this kind of establishment.

Tips: i) Try to get a room overlooking the garden (and not the strip club) and ii) don't accept their other place (Esedra) if they have overbooked - it's not nearly as nice.

“Great value for this money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

We`are really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are absolutely the same like on hotel photos. Everything is new and cozy. The hotel is small, there is only 6 rooms and you can feel yourself like at home. The breakfast is ok to start the day: coffee, tea, “yupi” juice, cake, croissant, yoghurt, bread, butter, jam and chocolate pasta. There is also mini bar in the room with prices like in any other shop in Rome. The location is also very good, it`s close to Termini (but the area is quite) and another metro station that is closer to the hotel is C.Pretorio.
I`ve been in Rome before and I can be sure that it`s excellent quality for this money (we paid 72 euro per day), I think it can be 4 stars hotel.
