“Very comfortable hotel but quite far from the city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2011

Even the hotel is located in the industrial area far from the city center and not close to the nearest metro station (Rebibbia), I would recommend it to other travellers in Roma because of the added value you'll receive there. Free Wi-Fi in the room, free shuttle from the hotel to the nearest metro station and clean, comfortable and well equipped room is worth to be chosen in this very good 4 star hotel even if you travell without car in Rome. Good value for money in the capital city of Italy. You don't need to buy relatively expensive breakfast in the hotel, because just near of the hotel you'll find good supermarket and to buy all what you need.

“Good hotel, in far place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

The hotel is clean, with comfort room, and basic facilities.
Shower, mini bar, LCD screen, and free wifi in the rooms.
The breakfast is continental as in other European cities, basic stuff but enough for light meal. (great pizza near to rebbebia metro station, so you can grab something when you go to the center)
The big hotels problem is his location, you nee to take bus (in front to the hotel) and then to switch it to metro, the whole journey might take between 30-60 min (depends if you catch the bus on time), also there is a free shuttle service, which can be booked in the reception in advance. this shuttle runs during the morning and late evening hours. the buses run till 12 a.m ad metro works till 23:30.
Hotel has free parking, therefore if you travel by car , no park problems.

If you arrive from Fiumicino airport, just take local train to the Tiburtina train station (train FR1 4euro) and then switch to local train FR2 which heading to tivoli, get off the train on firth stop (tor sapienza), in this leg you may use Roma pass (available in information center at the airport 25 euros), or just pay for the ticket (also 4 euros).
The whole journey took us about 1H 10m, and cost 8 euros (The express train to termini station cost 16 euros, and then you should switch to metro and then to bus... long long way)
BTW, when you get off the train at tor sapineza station, it takes about 5-10 min of walking to get to the hotel, go out of the station to the main street, and turn left, go straight ahead on second right turn make a turn, and walla, you are there :)

“GREAT HOTEL IF YOU ARE DRIVING”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

My main criteria for a hotel in Rome was parking which may not be the way to pick a hotel but given the fact that I was driving was fairly high up on my list of criteria and this hotel fulfilled that criteria and more.

The location of the hotel is out of central Rome, about 10 kilometres from the Vatican in an area that from what I saw in my four days there has absolutely nothing of interest to the average tourist, surrounded by small factories, offices and not much else and definitely not a place for a leisurely evening walk.

This hotel appears to be mainly aimed at business people needing to be in this particular part of Rome for business reasons and not so much for tourists expecting to walk out and find everything Rome has to offer within walking distance.

The hotel offers a free scheduled shuttle to a nearby subway station, Rebibbia in the mornings and when you come back you just call the hotel and they will send the van to the station to get you and take you back to the hotel up to either 10 or 11pm i think it was.
What the hotel does have is really nice rooms at a good price, I paid $86 Australian dollars per night room only.

My room 311, overlooked an inner courtyard which made the room very quiet and was by far the largest room I had on my entire two month trip in Europe. The room had a large king size bed, LCD TV, fridge, safe, good free internet access, air conditioning, desk, good wardrobe space, separate dressing area and a nice bathroom.

This hotel appears to be mainly aimed at business people needing to be in this particular part of Rome for business reasons and not so much for tourists expecting to walk out and find everything Rome has to offer within walking distance.

This hotel lacks any character but is a good choice if you are driving and need parking.

“Very Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

I stayed in Domidea hotel with couple of friends in a triple room for 2 nights. The hotel is very nice, modern and new . We chose that hotel because it seemed to be the best hotel 4* in that price range. And it turned to be one of the best choices we made on our trip , if it is not the best.
It also has its own free parking space, which is a blessing as we rented a car for our road trip Rome-PISA-Florence-Venice-Milan.
The hotel is located in an industrial area , it is 1 minute driving off the small ring road around Rome, 20 - 30 mins drive to the city center depending on the traffic . I would recommend that you rent a car if you stay at that hotel , however I saw in other reviews that there was a shuttle bus that would take you to the nearest train station. I believe there was a cafe/ restaurant and a supermarket nearby (I did not use any of these) as I just used the hotel to sleep and shower while spent most of the time in the city center.
The triple room was spacious with 2 LCD TV's , modern furniture and nice bathroom . The room was cleaned daily and was very well organized , although we left it a mess each day. (3 guys in 1 room could be a challenge for any hotel housekeeping :-) )
We had a very quick check in and they asked us at the front desk to fill in a small paper that they provided to us each day with what we'd like to have in our breakfast and when would we like to have it . We left that paper hanging outside on the door knob(similar to the do nit disturb sign). Then at the time we specified , someone knocks on the door with the tray of breakfast which was nice thing to do since they have a small dinning area. The breakfast was good with a lot of options.

Bottom Line :
I would definitely stay at that hotel again if I get to visit Rome one more time. I would recommend that you have a rented car as it is a bit far from the city center (shuttle bus available also to the nearest train station).
The hotel is new, modern, cheap and very well kept . The service is good , with free parking . I wouldn't need anything else from a hotel in trip like that :) So go for it and please don't listen to the negative reviews (except for the distance from city center if it really bothers you!)

“Far Far Far!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

I read other reviews before booking about this hotel being far from the city center but I was lured in by the great price and the Hotels.com distance showing 2.2 miles from city center. The taxi stand outside of the train station had no idea where the hotel was and had to use a map. It was a 40 minute drive and $50 cab fare to get there. The hotel is in an industrial neighborhood with nothing to do nearby. The hotel was clean and modern but the bar was closed the whole time, the breakfast was $20 euros per person and the A/C would not go above 85 degrees F. We stayed one night and then got back to town the next morning. Which cost another $50 eruos, so the "great price" was a wash.
