“Superb home in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We stayed in the large room with ensuite bath in October, and out eight nights there were great! Frank met us when we arrived and began being a great host, advising on restaurants, bakeries, getting around, and just making himself available to help make our stay more enjoyable. He and his wife were available for help getting around the city. The room was extra-large, well furnished, with ultra-modern bath, and the views were spectacular from the 5th floor balcony. (Yes, there is an elevator). Restaurants were all around the property, and the trolley, metro, and bus stops were about one block from the front door. The Termini is only five blocks away and easy to get to. If you are not familiar with Rome, be assured you will find the public transportation to be a wonderful way to get around. If we returned to Rome, Frank's House would be our first choice of "home base" for exploring.

Room Tip: Email Frank for information. He'll respond and be helpful.

“Very cozy room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

I stayed at "Frank's House" for one night as I was just passing through Rome on my way back to London. I was expecting something a bit more "hotel-like", but it was a pleasant surprise to actually be greeted by Frank himself, in what seemed like the entry of his home. I arrived fairly late and he took the time to point out a few places to grab a bite that were still open. I also had a very early flight the next morning, and he was kind enough to book a car for me.

The bed and linens were very comfortable, and the room was very clean and quiet. The only thing is that you have to exit the room to access the bathroom, but it is only across the hall. That said, it is private, so I didn't have to share it with anyone else. Overall, the experience was very positive, and I will surely book with Frank again when I come back to Rome on holiday.

Room Tip: I stayed in the smaller room, which faces a courtyard and is very quiet.

“Beautiful room at a great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We stayed in the large room with ensuite at Frank’s House for 4 nights in October. The room was huge and beautiful! We loved having a couch to relax on and the shower was the best of our trip! The location was very close to the metro and train station, which was great for getting into and out of town as well as heading to most of the major sites. The area around Frank’s House is interesting and to be honest, I felt more comfortable walking around at night than during the day- it sounds weird but there were strange characters that were out mid-day that disappeared at night. We would stay here again, but would probably stay in the room with the private bath instead as we found the traffic noise to be quite loud at all hours of the day.

Room Tip: We loved the physical room that had the ensuite, however, the other room would be much quieter if yo...

“Very nice place to stay while in Rome”

We were delighted to discovered Frank's house on a recent trip through Rome. We rented both rooms for ourselves and our two friends. So I can say both rooms are great! They're comparable in size, with large beds, nice sheets and furnishings. One has a bathroom in the room and a window looking out onto the street. The other has a window looking down into a small courtyard and the bathroom is in the hall, between the rooms.

Frank himself is very nice and helpful with tips, directions and recommendations for Rome. An amazing local bakery/cafe/sandwich shop he recommended is nearby Roscioli. Both of his dinner recommendations we went to were excellent, La Carbonara and Restaurante Taverna both in Monti. And actually, the Monti area is excellent for shopping as well. Lots of very cool designer clothing stores with great stuff, not just your typical name brands. Overall one of the cooler neighborhoods were locals actually live, eat and shop.

Really the only reason you'd choose a hotel over Frank's is if you want something more formal with room service, or need to pay with a credit card instead of cash. I am quite certain this is one of the best places to stay in Rome for the price. Thanks again for the great rooms Frank!

Room Tip: Both rooms are comparable in size and quality. However the one room has a bathroom in the hall the o...

“Great stay at Frank's Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My husband and I were very pleased with our decision to stay at Frank's House. Frank responded very quickly to our questions via email and even gave us some ideas and pointers for the rest of our trip to Italy. We had the room with the bath across the hall and were very pleased with our choice. We have and would recommend Frank's House to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Rome.
