“Perfect for what we needed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

We had minimal needs: a clean, comfortable, low-cost place to sleep from which we can easily and conveniently reach the sights. This place provided just that, no luxuries, no frills (but with free wifi).

The place is an apartment with several rooms, two shared bathrooms and a kitchen. Each room has a key so you can lock your doors. Our room had a computer, I don't think all of them do but there is free wifi (ask the hostess for the password). The place is clean, the hostess is very nice, very friendly. A simple breakfast is provided. The Inn is identified only by a small plaque by the intercom, you need to know where to look for it. You enter from the street into a courtyard, the entrance is in the back on the left of the courtyard.

The Inn is in a residential neighborhood with many immigrants, a quick walk from the the Termini - the central train station, a subway station and bus stations from which all the sights can be reached quite easily. There aren't really any bars, cafes or restaurants in the immediate surroundings. It's less than a 20 minute walk to the Coliseum, there is a supermarket nearby as well as a large market which was the perfect place to buy fresh produce and basic ingredients. You can get dry pasta, olive oil, Italian chocolates at much lower prices than you find in shops around tourist locations. Highly recommended: we bought fresh ingredients from the market, took them with us, found a nice spot to have picnic and made sandwiches for a fun, romantic and low-cost lunch.

We would leave the Inn early in the morning, come back at the end of the day just to sleep (and check email). That's all we needed, for that it was perfect.

Room Tip: I don't think all the rooms have computers, ask for the one that does.

“Good price-location-product relation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

In short: We stayed for 5 nights. The place is ok considering we were looking for the cheapest place within walking distance from Rome’s main attractions.

The neighborhood is not at all touristic but an immigrants place. The Inn is a hard to find apartment hidden in the back of a building with four bedrooms for rent. The owner is a charming Chinese woman with two kids. It’s not the best staff or attention, but you are getting a good place where to sleep and have a light breakfast (coffee, bread, yogurt, marmalade, butter and just a few more things).

It’s one block from a park where you can take the metro, the subway or a bus, it’s a 15-20 minutes’ walk to the Coliseum and less than 10 blocks away from the train station from the airport. It might be a little bit desolated if you plan to go out at night or return late.

So if you’re not picky and just want a nice place to spend the night while spending all day outside visiting the city, this is a good place for you!

Room Tip: The Inn is a four bedroom apartment, in the back of a building. The rooms are all alike.

“You get what you pay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

Pros: walking distance to tourist attractions and the Termini Station
Relatively cheap, considering the location...
We had a computer in the room, with the internet. The computer would freeze after about 10 minutes, but still, it provided a bit of access to the Net.

Cons: the asian lady who works during the morning/day does not speak one work of english. Makes communication very difficult.
It is B&B but the breakfast is really quite poor (and awkward because of poor communication) so we ended up eating out.

All in all, what you pay is what you get...

“you get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2011

There are some spoiled young American girls who complains about this place for no reason. They think, that at one of the cheapest accommodations in Rome, they may require help to carry the baggage. ...and: "host spoke almost no English" - so what - you're not home.
"The floor var dirty" (no, it was not) "and there was all Kinds of bath products and towels strewn about from people living there ". (of course - you share the bathroom with others) "The kitchen is dirty (no it is not) "and the refrigerator was full of rotten food and garbage "(check your own photos! i did not se that)" it is also in a terrible neighborhood and we were afraid to Leave there at night. "You should have stayed home in the States. This is an area of Rome where there are many Chinese. It is interesting and thankfully not a tourist trap, and least of all insecure.
The bed & breakfast is very cheap, but it is clean, the chinese hosts are friendly and flexible and as discreet as Chinese people are usually.
There is a supermarket 300 meters to the right, when you leave, and also on the right and first street on the right again and 50 meter, there is an italian family-restaurant, i recommend.
Free wifi

“Cheap and Clean but IS an asian familys house”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2011

Very hard to find this place walked past at least 4 times before noticing a , small label next to a buzzer on a block of flats. Clean room with comfortable bed and free use of computer with internet. Worth the price we paid at under 20 euros a night. Bathroom was clean if a bit small and shared with the family living there. Owner nice and spoke fair english. If you are after a nice hotel in Rome I wouldn't advise staying here but if you are travelling on a budget and just looking for a place to sleep close to the centre of Rome then this house is worth the money.
