The hostel is undoubtedly good value - it's close to the train station if you need a bed for a night.

However, it does not have air con, there is hardly anyone on the reception desk - so no free breakfast for you, and the bathrooms are dirty with broken toilet seats.

The owner was also highly inappropriate, offering massages, and when I didn't answer the bedroom door (I had a double to myself) he unlocked it and came in! Disgraceful.

I'm sure he doesn't do it to everyone, but I was a single girl, travelling alone - so just be aware.

Given the price of the rooms, this Hostel is a bargain, however, it is really hot in July, when there isn't any air con!

I stayed in one of the shared doubles rather than the dorm, and just as a warning, make sure you take some ear plugs. As the room backs onto a restaurant, and they do all the preparation (banging of endless plates) from about 6.30 - 10!

However, the Hostel was basic, but clean, and Monti was a real character, and couldn't do enough to help out.

I stayed with friends at MA Hostel in Rome for a few nights and it was shocking in comparison to all of the other hostels we have been to on our travels.

The dorms are basic bunk beds as we were expecting, however, the room was so hot at night and the ceiling fan really didnt cut it. As for the free internet, you can use the wifi from across the road, which would cut out, or go and pay at an internet cafe. Moreover, every morning you were greeted with a freezing cold shower, in the four nights which we stayed I didnt manage to get a hot shower once. Also the toilet seat was broken for the whole time we were there. We were never told about a free breakfast and he apparent televisions didnt work. Additionally, for arrivals, the owner monty was rarely there to greet his guests, which often meant other guests buzzing up newcomers and giving them a number to call monty on, which was not convenient for anyone.

Ultimately, this hostel was a massive disappointment. It is hugely over pirced, I dont think you could ask anyone to pay more than 17 euro to stay there. Lastly, dont be fooled by the pictures, it looks nothing like that.

The only dedeeming factors are that it is near the station, so maybe would be an option if you had an early train or bus to catch and there are small safes in the room which you could get a key for.

The only upsides to it was that the owners were friendly,and that we had free internet hours complimentary. Also, Roma Termini station is 2 mins away. Everything else was terrible. The complimentary breakfast offered was just a croissant in a nearby cafe,and that wudnt be enuf at all! The rooms were like pigeonholes! Quite spoilt my taste for the great city of Rome.
