“Unfriendly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

Unwelcome girl when we arrived. Dirty bathroom - was not cleaned within the 5 days we stayed. Mouldy bathroom ceiling and shower. Had to ask for request toilet paper quite often. Had to ask the girl to let us into our room each time we went out? why? Noisy unclean hostel. Would not recommend. Location okay. The girl who was there on the last day was nice. The beds were really uncomfortable - broken springs in the mattresses.

“Nice time in beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2009

I was in Rome with my 3 friends so we had like a small group. We stop in AD1House 5 days. It was nice time. We book there 4 place in dormitory room, but they give us even privet room for 4 people with same price. It was really nice surprise.
In the night we wanted to go out and they give us advice about lot of good places as well eating and party.
We came back late night and there is reception 24 hour, so there was'nt any problem to arrive 5 in the night.
Place was clean and the girl working there was always so helpful and ask us do we are good, do we need something. And was funny that she even speake some word my language. And like i saw later she try to speak with every client some word with their own language. We like it because when you are other country is nice like home feeling when someone speak your language.
Cleaning point was ok, nothing bad in this point.
Our room was nice stile painted, modern.
I would reccomend this place because we had nice time and because its small place they take care about every client.

“Very budget”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2009

Well, this "hotel" is very basic but it's price reflects that. The staff were helpful the room ws clean but I can't recommend it for much else. The shared bathroom had a blocked sink which I had read about in reviews before I left but assumed it would have been fixed. There was no way we would have found it by ourselves and even the shuttle driver had dificuly finding it, we got lost one day getting back to it and tried to follow the directions supplied which made no sense. I didn't feel unsafe in the area but we did make sure that we were back in the room before it got dark! This really is a cse of you get what you pay for and it was cheap!!

“If you need bed only- this will do”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2009

I have found a review of this place somewhere on internet saying: “no towels, disappointment”. I thought- at least I know that there is no towels so I will take some…

I guess disappointment was not only referring to this fact.

We stayed there 3 nights in a triple room.
The hostel is on the first floor. It is actually 2 flats on the first floor serving the purpose.

BATHROOMS (with toilets)
They have few dormitory rooms and 3 bathrooms. In flat on the right there are 2 Bathroom in the one on left- 1 bathroom. Toilets are in the bathrooms only. I wish that staff told us about it. Bathrooms are always busy and trying to pee in the morning at least is barely possible.
Once you are in the bathroom- well at least the one in the flat on the right hand side- not having the towel is a minor issue. The whole place is a bit of a swimming pool as the shower in the bath tube is not exactly waterproofed and when you do have a shower- 30% of water goes on the floor. There is always a mop outside bathroom- you will need it!
The place is far away from clean- sink does not get rid of water immediately- I guess there is lots of hair in a pipe.
Most interesting is the washing machine which is saying: “Danger, Do Not Touch”- see picture attached.

DINING/ SEATING ROOM
Do not exist

BREAKFAST
Is not provided in hostel- they give you a voucher and you have to go to a café nearby
You will get coffee and croissant of your choice.

RECEPTION
There is a desk on corridor

STAFF
They are trying to be nice in fairness…

EQUIPPENT
Strait from IKEA

ROOMS
Basically beds and that’s it. We did not have a lock…bit of a story below

OUR STAY
The place is in a block of flats on 17 Via Foscolo- would say 10 mins walk from Terimini Train Station- not to bad and quite convenient. We arrived on Friday evening- got a locker for out door (?!) and were told to give key back at reception once we leave. Fine with me- Once you in Rome…;-)
We came back round 2am- late but not terribly late- we were waiting for 15 mins for the receptionist to open the door (let’s say it was not the best time to wait- but hey). We have asked for a key to our door…but to our surprise she said that she does not have it and came back with tools to break the bolts in our door…
So we have ended up with door which could not be locked till the rest of our stay.
This was kind of basic service you would expect from any place calling itself a hostel. Well we could not lock up our room or at least keep our stuff somewhere safe…being in Rome with all the opportunists around trying to take over your camera or cash…we were seriously praying that once we are back they will at least leave us our underwear.

Amazingly enough nothing has disappeared. We did ask staff few times to sort it our- they smiled and that was about it.

More less this is it – just have a look on pictures I have taken…just so you know.

In fairness this was the cheapest place we could have find over internet for Easter (we were looking in December and prices were just ridiculous that time already).

We have paid 50 Euros per night in Easter time for a room with 3 beds and “Breakfast” included.

Yes we were desperate for central cheap place not expecting too much…but I guess we had a right to expect a little bit more that we have found…

I have been in many hostels- this is at a very bottom on my list...

“Good but false advertisement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2009

It was very cheap, we paid about $10pp per night.

I think it was a winter sale and probably is more expensive during summer.

But we stayed about 5 nights:

Everything was under construction and it seemed it is going to be a very nice place in the future since they are remodeling everything. ( lots of painting and remodalation when we stayed) The staff was really nice and the paintings on the wall were really good looking.

The sheets were really, really thin, and over just a wool blanket that I dont know how often it is washed. I wished night time there was a blanket.
Towels were not provided, so you must bring your own.

I really enjoyed the ethnic neighborhood, many Indians and Chinese communities and restaurants and shops, it seemed may be rough at night but we stayed in, so had no trouble. Owner told us to carry our bikes up to our room at night time.

But most of the stuff they advertised was not real.

There was no internet included instead there are a few shops around.
There was no breakfast included but there were good restaurants..
No TV which I dont mind but was advertised for.
No telephone ( we needed when we were going to airport or even just a cab number and there was not)
No bikes

To make it simple it is a simple bed; for a good price. near termini station

So we stayed happy; the price is low but just as long as you know all of
these things ( that he even commented were for advertising) Then you wont stress about them.

Over all it was clean, new and taken care of with nice keepers.
