We stayed 2 nights at Karolstay, It was some hiccups initially when we arrived because no one answering the door and we had problem locating public phone nearby, finally the owner came and brought us to the B&B which is at the 5th floor. At the beginning we didn't feel that welcoming as both the lady and the young man didn't really smile but after awhile when we requested for fan, the lady who speaks no English was very helpful to bring us a fan that was the ice breaking moment, since then she has been smiling each time she sees us :) (probably my sign language also amused her..lol..) We had a good stay, the room was clean and the bathroom is big and the breakfast was great! i miss the coffee a lot. As i speak no Italian, i tried to communicate with the lady with sign language..lol they allowed us to leave our luggage after we check out. We enjoyed our stay here and will recommend to others, the area is safe and bus stop just less than 2 mins walk. Tips when book this B&B: #1. Call them to let them know what time you are arriving so that they can be there expecting you. #2. Bring your own shower gel and shampoo because they don't provide. The next time if i go to Rome again i will definitely stay there again, i don't know about others but i have a very good memory here.
I write this review base on my own criteria : cheap rate with private bathroom,clean, in safe area and close to public transport and this B&B ticks all the boxes.
