“Vacanze Romane”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

As a location it can hardly be beaten as you are within 10 - 15 minutes walking distance from all major attractions (Piazza Navona, Vatican, Piazza di Spagna, Villa borghese etc.) and restaurants. The house was in perfect conditions, very clean and has a small but well equipped kitchen! Although you will not be passing much time in the house it's always good to know that you can go back to relax in a nice apartment with a good view.

“Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Location, location, location!

The apartments are located in the heart of Rome. Walking distance to the Vatican 15 minutes to Piazza Navona - 7 minutes, the Spanish Square - 10 minutes. Trevi Fountain - 12 minutes, the Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia - 15 minutes, the Pantheon - 10 minutes.
The apartments are located on a quiet street, surrounded by antique shops.

Rooms are large and consist of a living room and bedroom. Small kitchen equipped with electric stove, refrigerator, cooking utensils.

Bathroom is very clean, after repair.
Rooms need some renovation. But the antique chairs and tables will please for fans of history.

The rooms are allowed to smoke!

Staff is very friendly.

You can negotiate with the staff about the time of arrival. I came at night and found the keys to the appointed place.

Perfect for families, for couples and solo travelers who want to explore the city by the foot. The room can accommodate up to 4 people.

A good hotel for reasonable money.

“Made Rome our Favorite City.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

Imagine having the opportunity to visit Rome and staying in the apartment of a very caring, thoughtful friend who is away and has left you the key. Small details like several fans, extra blankets and hangers in the closet, flexibility for our extremely late evening arrival (many other apt. rentals just said "sorry") and a welcoming bottle of red wine. The staff was more than willing to help us make reservations at a restaurant and get soccer tickets.

The apartment was very clean, not fancy, but rich with character: high ceilings with hand painted tiles between the thick exposed wood beams. We stayed in Monte Brizano #5, it was lovely, spacious with a sitting/dining area in addition to the Bedroom, bath and kitchen. The galley kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, plates and bowls, pots and pans, fridge, stove top, toaster and a toaster oven; even a expresso french press!

But the location! Stay here if nothing else for the location. You step out the front door, look right and you can see the Spanish Steps. look left and see a bridge from which is one of the best views of St. Peter's Basilica in the city and to cross will land you at the doorstep of Castle St. Angelo. Just a few doors to the left is a great little Gelato and Canolli place. Look across the street and there is a bus stop from which the 87 bus will drop you off in front of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We walked 5 minutes each morning to get coffee at Tazza across from the Pantheon. It was a dream.

I dare you to find this value for this price. We are already planning our return trip.

“Live like a Roman do in an apartment, lots of room, close to restaurants & reasonably close to sites, apartment is older”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

For those who are looking for a top notch, spotless hotel class furnishing / experience, this will disappoint. They have multiple apartments available, the one we stayed at has 2 bedrooms located at Vicolo del Canale 27 (Apartment named Canale B), near Travesvere. Paid $540 EURO for 3 adults for 3 nights.

The apartment is on the 2nd level with only stairs (big steps too), no elevator and no Air conditioning. There are many fans provided however. There are two bedrooms, one with 1 queen bed, the other with 2 twins beds. The spring mattress is very old and very noisy. The are also two ensuite bathrooms attached to the bedrooms. One was reasonably sized with 1 person shower, other other has a shower that is so insanely small you can't even turn inside.

Overall the apartment is clean but the windows does little to shield any noisy and there are bugs at night in the street near the plants outside, so we're afraid to open the windows to let fresh air in. The washing machine doesn't work either. The TV provides only Italian channels but at least there is free internet.

Basically if you are looking to sleep 6 (they also have a pull out couch that can sleep an extra 2), and want to pay little, this is a possible choice (since there is enough room in the living/dining area for luggages, chairs to sit at, etc.

If you are looking for the ultimate or even moderate in luxury / comfort, this is not for you.
