“very cozy place and well maintained”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2011

This is a very small place, situated in a good location, walking distance both to Metro Lines and Termini Train Station, the owner speaks english, portuguese and italian, she is very friendly and always willing to help. It is clean and has breakfast, the price is a little high, but this is what you get in Rome. Full small and clean bathroom inside the room

Room Tip: book in advance, as the place only has three rooms

“By far the best place to stay in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2011

My now fiance traveled right round Europe last year and BBQueen was one of the most memorable. This is by far the best place to stay in Rome. Walking distance to international train station and all the main attractions in Rome, the rooms were spotless, spacious and modern, great value for money and Julia is just gorgeous! She is so friendly and helpful, helping us map out our journeys for the day, giving us great advice on best places to eat, cooking us breakfast every morning, and on the last day we had a late plain out and she had no qualms in allowing us to leave our luggage in the hotel and leave the key at the desk when we left. After long hours trying to find somewhere to stay in Rome, you should look no further!!

“A brilliant place to stay with amazing service!”

I am so glad that I followed the other reviews for BBQueen and booked our stay here. Julia was wonderful as everyone said she would be. Really helpful and even helped me out over the phone when she was too ill to come to the B&B!

The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The shower was brilliant with amazing water pressure and plenty of space in the cublicle. The sink was very small but that's not really an issue.

Breakfast was simple but fine to set you up for the day with nice tea and coffee on offer. We walked everywhere but there is a Metro stop 5 mins walk away too.

It can be a bit difficult to find. If you walk down Via Montebello with the Hotel Floridia (a big green sign you can't miss) in front of you on your left hand side, BBQueen is just before that. You need to check the signs on the doorways as you walk past and you'll come to the one with a BBQueen plaque on the wall.

I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

“can't beat it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

you will search the hotels in rome and see a variety of places that don't meet your needs....too expensive...poor location...not modern...no wifi. And then you will read the reviews of BBqueen and wonder if a small 3 room "bed and breakfast" can meet your needs. The answer is yes. The room is modern with flat screen tv and wifi, the bed comfortable, and the price is right. Sure, if you are looking for 5 star accomodation, this is not for you. Julia is a wonderful host but she does not have a full time staff. You get a key to the courtyard and room. The room and location were all I needed. Plus, I travelled by myself to Rome and while I booked a room for 2, Julia credited me the difference and only charged me for a single. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. I will mention one drawback to the room. The walls are thin and the rooms/hallways echo. When everyone gets up for breakfast, you will hear it. If you are a light sleeper or like to sleep late, bring earplugs and a sound machine :)

“Very nice, great location, great place”

I stayed a week with a friend at BBQueen and loved it: clean, quiet and very good location. The use of WiFi and the printer was very welcome and the fact that for a couple of nights we were the only guests was actually great. I do not need breakfast and the more I am left alone (if the room is cleaned daily) the better I feel. Location is great: a couple of minutes walking from Termini, supermarket around the corner and a very useful bus no 62 also around the corner. So, all in all, a very pleasant stay.
