We stayed at was B&B Inandout Rome Centre Navona (Vicolo Del Fico 15). This B&B is located about two blocks from Piazza Navona and is centrally located so that Campo Dei Fiori, Pantheon, Trastevere, and a whole bunch of other sites are within reasonable walking distance. My girlfriend and I are in decent physical shape and we walked EVERYWHERE! I mean we walked to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, Bocca de la Verita, Vatican, just for fun and to look for good gelato (tip - San Crispino near the Trevi Fountain and I Caruso north of the Forum are the best, with San Crispino having better sorbetto and I Caruso having better gelato (in our opinion)). Like everyone else says, eat a Da Francesco's - particularly their roast lamb with roasted potatoes. If you want to beat the crowds, either dine there for lunch, eat dinner between 7 - 8 pm, or make a reservation. With regard to finding the place and checking in, it's best that you print out a map and show it to the taxi driver so that you don't have to worry. That's what we did (from Termini Train Station) and we had no problems. Bring a phone and give Philomena a ring before you get there so that someone will be there to meet you at the door to check you in (no one is there during the day except for breakfast and to straighten up your room). If you are an independent traveler who doesn't need a lot of help navigating Rome, this is the place for you! I would DEFINITELY stay there again the next time I'm in Rome.
