“Best value for money in Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

This is my second stay in this B&B and the facilties are now more improved. The B&B is well finished, neat and tidy, with the FASTEST hotel internet i have experienced in Europe/UK. The complimentary water on arrival is a such a relief after a long journey, the finishes are of high quality and the essentials for a comfortable stay are provided. The location is so convenient, walk out of the building and step into the road for the bus or tram to connect to the transport hub at Termini station.

“Would recomend.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2009

I was here for 5 nights from the 6th to the 11th of December/09. It's a very good place to stay if you're looking for a big and clean room, with everything you need, tv, private insuite bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning system and very affordable. Amad is your host and is very nice and willing to help with anything you need. This is a house with 4 rooms and Amad is there only for about 3 hours a day, so let him know when you're arriving to make sure he will be there.

Although some people say the location is not good, I can say that besides having a supermarket just opposite the street wicht I found great, you also have two metro stations at 3 min walking (Manzoni and Vittorio Emanuele) and 2 trams (nr 5 and 14) and 1 bus (nr 105) that will take you straight to termini (in about a 10minutes ride) where you can go anywhere from. Also it is a walking distance from sta Maria Maggiore, the Colisseum and other main attractions. This is not the "best street" to visit in Rome, but we were only two girls and find it very secure to go around, we even went to see the Colisseum by night on foot, and did not have any problems.

Regarding breakfast, this is not a hotel, but there's toast, cookies, jam, milk, coffee and juice.

I think you won't have trouble finding this place, however it doesn't have a sign outside, just find nr 106 on the street (a big brown door) and look for the bell that says "gladiator", when you're inside you'll find a garden and it's your 1st door on the left. I would definitly stay here again if I was ever going back to Rome.

“NOT A B&B-but clean rooms and good price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

I just returned from a two week trek through Italy. We stayed at the Gladios in Rome for 5 nights. This place was advertised as a B&B but there was NO BREAKFAST. Which was a let down considering we could have stayed in other places for the same price that included breakfast. The location is poor overall. You are within walking distance of the Termini station (15-20 min) and also within walking distance to the Coliseum (20 min) but that is it. There are two metro stops that are in close proximity. The neighborhood isn't the best. We never had any problems with the area but didn't go out at night because it was a dodgy neighborhood. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms spacious. 5 rooms all with private facilities. The host was only there 3 hours a day, so no 24 hour reception. The security at the building was very good, with 4 locks to even get to the rooms. I wouldn't stay there again if I ever found myself in Rome again.
