I can't explain or understand the previous review. I'm not saying that the experience didn't happen but that it is totally left field of my experience.
I stayed for 7 nights in September and I have NO complaints. As I walked everywhere it was great to have a little oasis in the heart of the city to recharge, use the bathroom:-), and plan my next move.
Daniella was great, as was the coffee. Sure breakfast was packaged stuff but for me it wasn't an issue. I had yogurt and coffee and hit the streets.
The single room is noisy but only because of the piazza and the restaurants there. There was very little noise in the house itself that I heard.
Airconditioning worked great, room was clean, and a decent size bed.
Mario got me to the airport in the morning in plenty of time and brought me a coffee 15 minutes befor we left.
I plan to stay there agin in May!

My friends and I made reservations a month in advance for September 4th and 5th, 2011. When we arrived to check in, there was no answer at the door and nobody answering our phone calls. After waiting for over an hour, tired, hot and with all of our luggage, we decided that we had better find somewhere else to stay. Then the door opened and Daniella, the host of City's House was there. She was on her way to an appointment and upon meeting us, told us that the toilet was broken, she had sent us emails (which she didn't) and that we couldn't stay there. We told her that that was fine, but we didn't have a place to stay and she told us specifically, " I sent you emails, now get out!" She was so rude and awful to us. She couldn't even direct us to another place to stay. Not only did it waste a half a day of our precious time in Rome, but we found out later from a local authority that it was most likely a common scam and that she probably had multiple postings on the internet to get the most money for the room. The whole "broken toilet" problem was a lie. I am only writing this review, so that nobody else has the same awful experience we had. We missed out on a lot of Rome, because of this.

I give City's House B&B 5 stars! A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and had the best experience possible. Daniella is great and SO accommodating. We were greeted by her and her husband Mario (Who is also great) at the airport and they took us to our hotel. DO take advantage of the airport transfer service they offer - it is MUCH cheaper and more convenient than any of the other shuttles/taxi's. City's house B&B is located in Piazza del Madelena and there is a beautiful old church and some great restaurants right outside the doorstep! Our window actually opened up and looked right out onto the piazza which was gorgeous! At dinner time there was usually live music playing which was fantastic. The noise never bothered us if we shut our window but if you're a light sleeper just bring ear plugs and you'll be fine. You'll also be just one block from the Pantheon which was my favourite thing in Rome, plus you're within walking distance of everything - the Vatican, ancient Rome, Spanish steps, etc. Daniella keeps the rooms VERY clean - there's only 5 or 6, and two of them share a large bathroom - which is what we did and it was never an issue. Daniella was constantly making sure all of her guests were satisfied and everything was tidy. I can't say enough nice things about her and our stay there! It was like staying with an old friend or distant cousin! I can't wait to go back - I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome!

Can't speak highly enough about this absolutely fantastic B&B in Rome! On the doorstep of the Pantheon, it is centrally located. Clean, secure, and friendly! Will definitely be back when we return to Rome!
