“Excellent small hotel choice in great area by Spanish Steps”

A girlfriend and I shared the meduium sized junior suite at the Margutta 54 earlier this month. The suite was large with a small dining table, sitting area, walk-in closet space for all our stuff and a large amazing bathroom. It has a huge shower and even a bathtub.

The area of Rome is just a few blocks from the Spanish Steps and surrounded by posh shops and cafes. The staff was great and the in-room Espresso maker was a fantastic treat. It's a very small hotel with four suites and limited reception hours, but it was exactly what we wanted.

Would definitely stay there again.

“Nice Townhouse in Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Very nice townhouse located on a great street and walking distance to the local attractions. Other reviewers are correct, that it is not a hotel, but a townhouse, so do not expect the typical hotel amenitites. However, it is in a very nice, private and quiet courtyard with a locked gate. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The only negative thing I could say is that our room was a little noisy starting around 8am when the hotel staff came in (we are assuming that is the reason for the noise??). However, until that point, and throughout the night, it was very quiet. Other than that, it met our needs and the location was great.

“Stylish retreat in heart of Rome”

Husband booked Margutta 54 as a surprise for my birthday and it was one of the highlights of an amazing holiday. The Superior Suite is on the ground floor opening onto the courtyard so you have your own private entrance. The space is great with loads of room to relax after sightseeing. The courtyard is well set back from a beautiful cobbled street handy for Spanish Steps, plenty of great restaurants and even the Metro. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and bookings, and even organised a great trip to watch AS Roma. The room was immaculately clean with towels changed twice daily. The Nespresso machine in the room was also a nice touch.

“Fantastic for the Family”

We recently stayed at 54 Margutta - checking out last Thursday. It was fantastic. I was travelling with my 2 children (9 and 8) and my father. Our room was of a very comfortable size - given how little time we spent at the place, we probably had too much room!!! Lovely large bath; beautiful large main bedroom with a small dividing wall open on either side (note parents, if you are after 100% privacy, this room is open to the rest of the apartment); heaps of room for storage ... Just nothing to fault about the room. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Only having the reception manned until 4pm was a slight pain but nothing to complain about. The apartment is situated 2 streets from the best shopping in Rome - one street for exclusive brands and one street for High St brands (Gap, Zara, H&M etc). Just a great place, great value relative to other places ... really happy - would definitely stay again.

“Perfectly suited to what we were desiring in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

This was our first experience in Rome and we really wanted a room in a property that did not feel like the typical hotel that my partner usually has to stay in when he travels frequently for work. Margutta 54 was the right choice with the very private entry gate off of the rather tranquil street and short walk through the quiet courtyard. The concierge was very helpful arranging an airport transfer as well as recommendations for local restaurants and reserving a table for us in advance of our arrival. Thank you for a memorable stay and when we return to Rome, we will certainly return to Margutta 54 and recommend it to any friends or family.
