“Lovely apartments close to the Vatican”

This is a really nice family run business located maybe 10-15mins walk from the Vatican.

The family who run these apartmnets(only 3 rooms available) are one of the nicest we met in our 2 week journey through Italy. You can call them virtually at any time if you have any issues and they will be there in minutes.

The rooms are of good size and very clean & adequate and so represent good value for money. If your primary objective for Rome is the Vatican then this place is a no brainer but if you want to see the Vatican and also everything else the wonderful place has to offer then it's a fair distance from the other attractions. Having said that, the main tourist metro line is maybe a 10min walk and for approx 15 Euros you could use the taxi if your too tired to be bothered with the metro. Also, lots of local wonderful restaurants are close by for a nice dinner so you don't have to go to the centre every night.

We really did love the place, more so because of the family who treat you like family & would love to come back. We did miss living in the heart of the city at times especially when your tired and would like to sneak back for a quick nap but hotels in the city are frightfully expensive so it really depends on your budget.

“Great time in Almes B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

We spent 4 nights in Almes. We had a great time there. It is very close to the Vatican. We used the public transport just a few time. The staff is very kind and helpful.
There are a lot of café's where you can spend your breakfast.
We loved it very much. It is a typical italian area in Rome.

“Great place to stay in Rome”

We've spent 4 nights in Almes week ago. It's situated in a quiet area 10 min walk from Vatican city and Ottaviano metro station. Room was very clean, everything working perfectly, including wi-fi and TV with satellite channels. It's in a residential building (used to be a flat). We have booked this accommodation through booking.com, which was excluding breakfast - it was no problem for us since there is many cafes around to take a breakfast for good money. Staff was very nice and helpful. This area is really good to stay at, not dangerous at all, even at night. I would definitely recommend.

Upon arriving at ALMES we were greeted by the owners who were gracious, accommodating and extremely helpful (and speak fluent English). The B & B is immaculate and perfectly situated blocks from Vatican City & the Metro. Fabulous restaurants and shopping surround this very safe neighborhood with its Roman charm and beauty.

Room Tip: The rooms are well appointed and have

“Almes B&B exceeded all expectations in every way. Highly recommended.”

We booked months in advance for the beatification of John Paul II in order to ensure that we were walking distance from the Vatican. Almes B&B offered: complimentary chilled refreshments in the room which we enjoyed immediately, high speed internet access and exceptionally clean quiet rooms which are spacious and comfortable enough for an extended stay of a week or more. We thoroughly enjoyed our most recent stay Rome. During our trip, we also dined at several restaurants recommended by the owners. One was so exceptional that we returned the following night with friends for a second dining experience! When I plan our next trip to Rome, I'll definitely try to make my travel around room availability at Almes B&B!

Room Tip: Almes B&B offers just 3 rooms and all are as lovely as the images shown on the wedsite
