“Wonderful large apartment in the middle of Rome”

I almost don’t want to write this review and keep this apartment all to myself. We stayed in the Vivaldi Suite part of the Vivaldi Luxury Rooms. So you check in at Hotel Mozart but your apartment is 3 minutes around the corner (the porter carries your luggage) just off Via del Corso. The apartment is very large with a double bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchenette, lounge room and a master bedroom (large enough for a sofa and king sized bed). Oh you also get an outdoor balcony. The breakfast room (included in the room rate) is located within your building. Staff were great but you really don’t see them. So if you like to look like a local and wander off the street into your Roman house then this is your spot. Your apartment is exactly where you want to stay in Rome. Basically in the middle of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona. You are surrounded by shops, restaurants, amazing churches and gelato bars. We will definitely return for another “Roman Holiday”.

“Terrific hotel, terrific location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

We stayed five nights in the Vivaldi Luxury Rooms. The room and common areas were spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. The room was also somewhat larger than most European hotel rooms. The bed was quite comfortable and very large. The breakfast that is served is more than adequate and the staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. It wasn't at all noisy there. The only problem worth noting is the fact that the internet is an ADSL wire connection and it operates at a very, very slow speed, reminiscent of the internet from the 1990's. It was so slow that I couldn't use Skype. There's wireless internet in the Mozart Hotel around the corner and that is considerably faster. The hotel's location couldn't be better...on the Via del Corso and minutes from the Spanish steps. There is no shortage of fine restaurants, shops and attractions nearby. I would absolutely return to this hotel again and recommend it very highly. In fact I will probably return to this hotel before I would go to someplace new, regardless of the reviews. Enjoy your stay!

“Perfect location can not ask for any location better!”

We reserved for Hotel Mozart at first and found out it was fully booked. We were recommended to go to Vivaldi Luxury rooms for a better price. We absolutely LOVED it. The location is great because the Via del Corso takes you everywhere. We could walk to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Popolo, colosseum and lots others. We took the metro to Vatican city (2 stops, 1 euro ticket(per person) to go to anywhere for 75 minutes). There are not many gypsies/beggars/pick-pockets in the stations because the security is tight but there are quite a few by the stop of the colosseum. You have to be aware! But otherwise, we found that it is safe to walk around late at night (we stayed out until about 12 in the night). The hotel door is placed right between the shops in the middle of the street, making it feel like you actually have a home and you live in italy. It feels great to push the code in and walk in like you live there and people glance to see. :P We also like to shop so the location was perfect. Not far from the attractions and close to the shops. We arrived late and the reception recommended us a restaurant to go to and it was not delicious at all. The spaghetti carbonara was too cheesy and creamy and the pasta was not that great. However, you should go to Osteria della Vite on Via della Vite. It's only a couple of blocks away and it took us about 4 minutes by foot. they only have the visible sign "Pizzeria" outside. The food is great - pizza, spaghetti and everything! When they offer you something, they're not being sneaky, they just want you to eat good food! and be aware that the small pizza in a basket that they place on your table (it is delicious) is not included in your meal, its another dish. If you dont want it you simply say you dont. They are very... enthusiastic and loud. :) We realized that the restaurant that they recommended for us in the hotel was...crap. The breakfast in the hotel is good. The room is so adorable! The furniture was cute along with the cups and plates and etc. They however dont have gowns or slippers in their bathrooms like some other hotels do. it is pretty clean and the rooms all have an air conditioner. :) A Jacuzzi is in the bathroom as well. the people in the reception were friendly along with the lady in the breakfast room. She was very friendly and even gave us cake to take home and eat. :) There wasn't any traffic near by so we did not have any problems sleeping. I would definetely recommend this place.
Oh! also, there is no reception in the vivaldi luxury rooms, it is just basically an apartment. the reception for vivaldi luxury rooms is the same as hotel mozart. however, it was easier without the reception because you can walk in and out of your room as much as you want without anyone seeing you. THere are however security cameras in every corner of the vivaldi rooms (hallways, staircase). :D

“Very good location, a hotel but not a hotel; would stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

The Vivaldi Luxury Rooms are a set of rooms in what seems to be still an apartment building on via del Corso, right around the corner from the Hotel Mozart on via dei Greci. The rooms are managed by the hotel, so you check in and out at the hotel and use their services. But you're given a key card with the code for the exterior door on via del Corso, and a code for the door into the hotel's rooms. Then the key card is used to open your room. The hotel maintains a nice breakfast room at the via del Corso site but you're free to use the public rooms (and roof garden) of the hotel. We liked this setup as it was almost as if you had your own pied-a-terre in the city. The room itself was well appointed though certainly not large. The bathroom was modern. Location was as we expected, not on top of all the tourist destinations but easy to get to any of them (about a half hour walk). The metro stop nearest the hotel is on top of the nearby Spanish Steps, though you can get a taxi at the bottom of the steps or at Piazza Popolo just up the street. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants nearby and via del Corso is a major shopping street. If you want an experience diffferent from a traditional hotel, this should work well for you. The staff was professional though not expecially warm.

“Great location, great rooms not so great staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

The location of the hotel was excellent as was the room which was a good size and the bathroom was new and everything was very clean. I booked bed and breakfast and all the reviews that I had read said that breakfast was served in the room, as the rooms are an annex of the hotel. My booking confirmation from an agency webiste stated that the breakfast was served in the room as did the room directory and the hotel website, which stated this in both English and Italian. Upon checking out the receptionist added on an additional charge for having breakfast in our room, when I showed him the booking confirmation, he said that it was a mistake and that hotel was not responsible for what was written on another company’s website. When we told him that it was written in the room directory and on their website ‘breakfast is served in the room’ he was completely dismissive and said “madam everywhere in the world you have to pay extra for breakfast in your room”. I was fortunately with an Italian friend who was having none of this and refused to pay anything extra, eventually after a lengthy argument the extra charges were deducted from the bill. I am sure if she had not been there they he would have charged my credit card with the full amount. Also there were guests who vacated their rooms at 07:00 nothing can be done about this and the noise it creates. However, at 07:45 the cleaners showed up and proceeded to vacuum the empty rooms next door and move the furniture back into place. This was on the Sunday morning, so not the place to stay if you plan to stay out late and have a long lie the next day.
