Stayed here with family (kids - 13 & 11yrs) on our first visit to Rome. Took awhile to find (10 minutes from Spanga Metro) but found it to be a great base for visiting the City's sites. Only caught one Metro all visit, everything else was very walkable (Vatican, Colesseo, Termini less then 30 mins walk, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Castel SA, Navonna etc.. all within 10 minutes stroll).
Little supermarket around the corner and decent cafe downstairs for complimentary breakfast (croissant + drink) and evening food (with 10% discount).
Room was very spacey, with large double bed on a raised level from main area with 2 single beds and fridge, kettle, tv etc..
You were certainly left to on your own, the only time we saw the owners/staff was picking up and dropping off the key in the cafe below.
Lovely to pop out and stroll the main streets and little alleys in the area, never concerned with safety, even at night. Plenty of shops (pricey!), bars, Piazza's and churches in the vicinity.
Definitely stay again.
