As soon as we booked on line we received an e-mail from Georgia who runs the place - nice personal touch. She was there to meet us when we arrived even although we were later than we said - took us longer to get there from the airport than we realised. It's not a hotel so there's no 'service' as such - but we had a spacious, clean room with ensuite and TV for 70 euros a night (had to pay in cash which was fine). It's on the first floor - so felt safe and secure. There's a rather quaint old lift - but it works fine. For breakfast Georgia gave us tickets to exchange at the cafe round the corner on the square - nothing special - just a coffee and a pastry - typically Italian. It's equidistant from 2 metro stations - about 5 - 10 minutes walk.. Coliseum is 10 - 15 minute walk. Buses go into the centre from the main square. There is a little kitchenette with a great expresso coffee machine and a fridge - useful for supplies. Felt like a safe area and we found a few local places to eat which were fine. All in all just what we needed as a base from which to go out exploring.
