“Intimate B&B in an excellent location and with a friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Maison Giulia is quaint, in a small building from the 1500's. The staff is friendly and accommodating, willing to assist in any way they can. It is very close to Ponte Sisto, Campo de Fiore, Trastevere. Rooms are very small but very clean and nicely decorated. Linens were very nice and refreshed daily. There is a spiral staircase from lobby - upstairs to 4 rooms and downstairs to breakfast room. Breakfast was sufficient: cafe, juice, toast, pastries, cheese, yogurt, cereal. Front desk assisted with restaurant suggestions and calling taxis when necessary.
If you don't need a large full service hotel, but just a simple and nice place during your stay in Rome, you should definitely consider Maison Giulia.

“Home sweet home”

We had a nice stay at Maison Giulia. Staff and owners are more than friendly and helpful doing their best to please you. We first had a room a little too noisy to our taste (Vespas and cars passing by in the side street). Being very tired we were a bit noise sensitive, but once they had moved us to their first free room opening on to the courtyard, it was just perfect. So ask for one of these rooms if you want total peace! Breakfast is basic and rooms are nicely furnished and cosy, maybe a little too small but we are in Roma! Everything is within walking distance. They let us print our plane boarding passes. What else could we ask for? We will come back.

“excellent location, excellent staff, excellent room!!”

We stayed in one of the new apartments that the Maison Giulia offers. It was only my husband and I so we stayed in the Studio apartment. The room was beautifully decorated and fully furnished. The bathroom has beautiful ceramic tile throughout including inside the shower as well. Plenty of storage for our clothes and packs. The kitchen had four burners, had four place settings of dishes and a large fridge and freezer. The staff cleaned the room every two days which was nice to not have to worry about sweeping the floor and they changed the sheets and towels also! I can't say much about the main hotel building since we were about 700 m down the street which was perfect, we felt secluded enough to have our privacy but we also were close enough if we needed anything. The apartment was in a brilliant location, 20 minute walking to the Vatican, and 30 minute walk to the Collesseum and Forum. We were situated close enough to the river that we enjoyed many long walks in the evening and really enjoyed seeing the city so beautifully lit! Trastevere is only right across the river and Campo di Fiori is only a 7 minute walk where we enjoyed delicious Roman Food! If you come to Rome, stay here, great price for a studio apartment also. Thank you Maison Giula and see you again soon!!!

Room Tip: Check out Campo di Fiori Market for fresh produce and meats to enjoy while staying in the room. We a...

“Perfect place to explore Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We stayed 5 night at Maison Gulia (29.12.11-03.01.11). We wanted to spend New Year´s Eve in the Eternal City and also use the chance to explore Rome. This B&B Hotel is our opinion one of the best we had till now. I don´t say that in the meaning of luxus. I mean it "all in all". The location could not be better: near from Ghetto, near from Campo dei Fiori (where are all restaurtants, lot of bars....), but in the calm street, so it´s not so noisy. 2 min from the bridge which brings you in the center of Trastevere. You have the bus station 1 min walking, which goes allong Tiber, if you don´t wont to walk to Vatican (max. 15 min) you can take the bus 280 or 23 (3 station). The owners are very helpful. I asked them pretty much about everything. If they don´t know they´ll find out it for you. The rooms are a bit small, but it´s center of Rome, it´s like common thing. You can espect a big rooms in historic part of the city. Like in center of every european city. But the rooms are very nice, clean and located in very known Via Giulia. It was one of the first important urban planning projects in Renaissance Rome. It was the project from Bramante who built the Basilica of St. Peter. If you wan´t to see all "must see" attractions but in the same time to be alone in the Rome streets, go to do Maison Guilia. You´ll not be disappointed. If we come to Rome again, definitely -Maison Gulia.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms

“Comfortable Room, Excellent Location & Friendly Owners/Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

It was my first time in Rome and I am glad I chose Maison Giulia for a 3 night stay (22-25 Dec). The location is excellent - walking distance to Piazza Novona and other amenities. The rooms are immaculately clean. I was worried of communication problem since I don't speak Italian but that was the least of my worries. Staff all speaks English and are knowledgeable and friendly. The owners, Alessandro and Alessandro (with a goatie) are both pleasant and even helped me with my train booking for my onward journey. Breakfast was good - made to order caffe latte and hot choc. They even have SkyTV to help keep the children occupied. The free wifi in the room helped a lot. I would definitely choose Maison Giulia on my next trip to Rome and I strongly recommend you to try them,
