We arrived to Rome without a reservation and were approached by a guy who had a room at a guesthouse. I usually never go with someone outside of stations, especially in big cities like Rome, but I am so glad I did!
Walking to the B&B, we noticed lots of neighbors saying hi to him and he even thanked us checking out the room when he was the one that saved us a long search for a place on a really hot day. The couple who runs Tropical B&B is so friendly and the rooms were fantastic. Lots of really nice furniture instead of your usual sparsely furnished rooms at this price. The shared bathroom was exceptionally clean and the hallways are decorated in a way that makes you feel like you are staying at someone's really comfortable home. We had to leave Rome early the next day and were surprised when the woman who runs it offered to set out some breakfast. The location is great...near Termini but on a nice street and we slept well.
I really can't say enough good things about this place and feel really lucky to have such a nice place to stay on future visits.
