“Do NOT stay here unless you're a broke teenager backpacking thru Europe”

It was my husband's 1st time to Europe, we're young, in our early 30's and I was trying to be economical so I booked 3 nights at the Flora B&B. Well in the end that translated to $440 for a 3 night stay at this dump of a HOSTEL, it shouldn't even be called a hotel or B&B b/c it's not, it's a glorified hostel.

The minute he saw the room he wanted to get back on the plane. It was the tiniest most depressing room with nothing but an old bed, a desk and a small tv. The walls were filthy. I can't think of a more depressing ambience. I will never forgive myself for booking this room all to save a buck. Had I been smart I would have spent an extra 25 euros a night and been in a hotel that was world's apart.

The price got me and also the location factor. But what no one tells you is that the center of Rome is so damn small anyways that you can stay near any of the main piazzas and be in a phenomenal location!! I could have stayed 15 minutes away in any direction and been in a "prime" location. God what a waste of $$ this was.

Please, if you are not used to third-world living, which is what this felt like, then do not stay here!

“great location - but where???!! Hotel Pomezia/Flora B & B”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

We booked into the Flora B & B thinking it had 3 double rooms and 2 triple rooms - on finding number 13 Via dei Chiavari (not 61 as this site suggests) we actually found that this is the Hotel Pomezia a thirty five roomed hotel. I wonder what is being hidden here!!!!

The bedroom was basic but clean with air conditioning and TV and a good bathroom. The breakfast filled us up with carbs for the day (bread rolls/croissants etc) and though we come from the UK we have travelled extensively in USA and so found the buffet style perfectly acceptable - and a big plus was we didn't have to use paper plates and plastic cuttlery as in so much of USA equivalent hotels)

The staff was not exactly friendly to the point of being abrupt - again not something we get in the UK or USA but I think this was their way and not to be taken personally. They could speak good English and the taxi/car they booked to take us to the airport arrived early and was their advice on timing etc was "spot on"

We walked everwhere as the hotel is so ideally placed - if I could have added anything it would have been somewhere other than the room to sit between a day pounding the streets in search of culture and the evening spent eating at one of the eateries all close by - but for 80 euros a day for two of us it was great value

“where is it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2009

The Flora B&B doesnt exist. After the taxi driver dropped us of(he had never heard of it) we spent over an hour looking for it. The address given was a mostly derelict building that was is no way a B&B or anything. After asking in a few hotels(none of which had heard of the Flora), we decided just to give up and book into the next hotel. When asking at this hotel The Pomezia, they announced they were the Flora B&B! Yes it was on the same street, but at a different number and NOT called the Flora.WHY, how was anyone supposed to find it when it had a different name?. VERY annoying. I would like to know what Venere(the website booked through) are playing at.Anyway, the hotel, was ok quite basic but had what we needed. The breakfast was a waste of time, not worth getting up for. A breadbun with jam doesnt quite cut it.Dont like croissants and the cereal was Yuk. Staff not very pleasant, appeared quite grumpy and hardly acknowledged us. The best thing about this hotel was its location, near to everything we wanted. Not sure if we would stay there again, not really worth the money, although I think all Hotels in Rome are overpriced.!!
