On arrival the area was very quiet and clearly residential. The road was just off of the high street and easy to find. Around a 10-15 minute walk from the station. The stop itself was around a 40 minute journey from the termini station. The accomodation is a very lovely elderly ladies flat within a block of 6 or 8 on a residential road. There were no signs on the road but a very friendly local gentleman opened the iron gates to let us in into the block. Again in the corridor there were no signs and it seemed as though we were knocking on someone's door. Which it turned out we were. The owner herself was delightful, helpful and extremely friendly but unfortunately only spoke italian which made it difficult but not displeasing. The room was in the corner of the flat between the owners own room and the bathroom which had been decorated to a good order. It consisted of two metal beds pushed together, no tv but ample hanging space for clothes. The balcony overlooked a small shared garden and a side road. The experience was awkward as it was very difficult to make yourself at home in someone elses house. Although the owner was delightful we made our excuse and booked into another hotel in the heart of Rome within a few hours.
