“Excellent Hotel..Excellent Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

This B&B/ apartment was our 2nd choice when we were booking then. But it has now become our 1st choice and we will definitely book this place again when we return to Rome. The owner was very kind and generous. He sugested us restos which we tried and they are all good. The entry hallway of the apartment has unlimited amount of Twining Teas, Nespressos varieties and chocolates at our disposal. The rooms are very nice and clean. The kitchen is functional. The sitting area is a bonus. While the toilet and shower are functional. The location is unbeatable, walking distance to everywhere; while there are two Metro stops, each 500 meters away- Spagna and Flaminio. I hope that the owner can put a small computer at the entry way for free internet use. We are travellers from the other side of the globe and we are too lazy to be carrying a laptop or IPAD on the road for three weeks.

“Good Hotel for the Independent Traveller.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2010

This hotel, on the 3rd floor of a building near Piazza Popolo, is a great find if you don't need a concierge. The room was very large and clean. The location is close to some major tourist sites, as well as some high-end shopping. The room was well maintained, the bed is large though a bit on the hard side. The bathroom shower is a bit small, but the bathroom itself is fine. Since there is often no on site staff at the hotel, you need to be ready to make dinner reservations and your plans on your own. The phone in your room is free for local calls, there is free internet access in your room, and the management is on site for some time in the morning and other times in the day.So there is some contact with a living breathing staff member if needed. There are places to eat nearby, ranging from high-end restaurants to cafes with pastries. Or you can cook something up in your suite with the well kept mini-kitchen. If you can do things without much help from the hotel, and like big, clean rooms in a great location, then I recommend this place.

“Very pleasant stay”

We were surprised to find this "apartment/hotel" with nice, modern rooms just steps from the Piazza del Popolo at a reasonable price. We stayed in the "Anna" suite and we weren't disappointed. The room was a good size, clean, and right outside our door, there was a coffee/tea station where guests could make themselves free Nespresso coffee. The only reservation I had about the room was the size of the shower cubicle. It was too small and the shower curtain wasn't very effective.

The manager Mr Monaco was very helpful and offered to walk us to a nearby restaurant called Babette for lunch because he was on his way there to grab himself a sandwich. The desserts there were heavenly. We stayed two nights and didn't have to take a taxi at all. The Spanish Steps and Via dei Condotti were just 5 minutes' walk away and there are many shops on Via del Babuino itself. We walked to the Vatican City and back, and enjoyed many sights along the way. The hotel offers a private taxi service from the airport at the same price as a normal taxi so I would definitely take it because we didn't and we wish we did. We took a train to Termini and the walk to the underground station must have taken 15 minutes (and there were stairs...), which was tough when we had a big suitcase. Also, I nearly got my wallet stolen when I boarded the underground train (I grabbed this woman's hand while she was trying to go through my handbag!) so we will take the taxi next time. But we'll definitely stay at the Romeo al Babuino again.

“Nothing disappointed us, and we would stay again without any hesitation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

The shower was fantastic and better than my own. The bed was very comfortable and there was very little street noise. The room was comfortable and well designed. We rarely saw anyone and felt and like we could come and go without everyone noticing us. I loved fixing an espresso right outside of our apartment. the staff was available and very helpful.
