“Best location, cosy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2010

Extremely good location in walking distance from all the sighs in central Rome.

Very cosy hotel. Our room was not very large, but that is what is to be expected in central Rome. The room was a little bit dark (almost no natural light, but plenty of lamps). We experienced no street noise whatsoever.

It was very nice to be able to eat breakfast in the yard, or to drink a glass of wine in the evening.

There were a few minor problems with the room. When we moved in, the toilet seat was loose, but it was fixed during our stay (3 nights) even though we didn't complain about it. And the "turkish bath" (shower, where water is supposed to come from alle sides) didn't work - only the regular shower head worked.

But the location is extremely good, at we can recommend the pasta and risotto at the restaurant named something with Rosa at the end of the street.

i booked the place on line. it seemed a great place to be...until we arrived and we saw what it was....filthy small rooms that HAD nothing to do with the pictures they post on line..the pictures and the presentation is completely fake....the terrace is extremely small and in a corner thar face a wall, the rooms are dark, the beds very small, it is not at all a suite...better not talk about the staff (which staff? a young boy )or the owner that completely fooled us and overcharged...In overall STAY AWAY..

“Excellent location - shame about the noise”

We used the private car transfer from the airport offered by the hotel. It cost €50 but was very efficient and saved any hassle with trains and I don't know if we'd have found the hotel otherwise. It's tucked away around the corner from the Trevi fountain and there is just a small brass plaque on the wall to name it. It's between two restaurants (neither to be recommended).
We arrived at midday but were shown to our room straight away (check in is shown from 2pm). The room was lovely, with a very comfy 4 poster double bed, flat screen sky tv and a big hydrojet shower. The room also had aircon, double glazing and wooden shutters. We were also shown a terrace which we were free to use.
The one member of staff that we saw in 4 days was very helpful and polite.
As I said the hotel is just round the corner from the Trevi fountain, so the location really takes some beating. But there were a couple of downsides.
We were woken every morning at 6.30 (Sunday included) by people talking loudly and shouting in the street. This was even with new double glazing and wooden shutters in use. Also one of the buildings next door was having work done, so lots of banging from 7.30.
We also had problems with our shower. It should have been lovely, one of those hydrojet showers with jets coming out in every direction, but the temperature control was broken and it scalded my other half as it wouldn't turn down - only up. We had to get the young lad from the hotel to use a screwdriver to turn the temperature down.
These two points were a real shame as otherwise it would have been perfect.

“Fantastic in every way - just checking on dates when we can return...”

As there weren't many reviews for this B&B, and most of them weren't in English, I was a bit worried that i'd taken a chance with these suites, but figured, location location location!

I needn't have worried in the slightest however as the room was amazing! We were greeted by Michael, and although we were early too early to check in he was happy to look after our bags whilst we checked out what the local area had to offer. The location is down a beautiful tiny side street just seconds from the Trevi Fountain. A quick recommendation, the Gelateria at the end of this street is the cheapest and has the most flavours of all the Gelaterias in Rome that we found - only down side is that on our way home every night, we couldn't resist trying just one more flavour...

There are only three rooms in this B&B which makes service extremely personal, although saying that, we never met anyone else who was staying in the other suites, we only ever heard them returning or leaving their rooms, you could not hear any noise other than this. Our room faced the terrace area, and was incredibly quiet at night - we were usually exhausted from trips about town anyway, but the bed was firm and comfortable, and the lack of noise just made it bliss.

On checking into our room, I had asked when booking for some Champagne and Chocolates to be left in the room as it was my partner's 40th birthday, and this had been arranged to perfection with champagne flutes, rose petals and candles all about the room too. The bathroom was compact, but cleverly arranged (on another personal note, the tiling was amazingly well done and beautiful quality - if you like detail, our room was not short of those 'little details').

The usual minifridge was there stocked with wine, beer and soft drinks, and in the bathroom, a hairdryer and 2 toothbrush kits with toothpaste! There was always an attendant there to greet you on your return to the B&B, and the security was always excellent, a safe in the room, and to get in the two front doors, the locks and bolts were extremely secure. And need I add the free super speedy WiFi? No need to make calls home when you can browse the internet for free!

Breakfast was the usual continental style, with as much as you can eat served in your room - coffee, tea, orange juice (or any juice you want!) Granfetta, bread, croissant, yoghurt - just about anything you ask for can be provided, and at any time you specify! I believe you can take breakfast on the terrace in the warmer months, but in February, it was lovely to have this served in the room.

Our experience of these suites was just amazing, it really made our holiday that we could return home each night to a spotless, comfortable and private room. Many thanks to Angelo and his staff who really made us feel welcome, and extremely sad to leave!

“Couldn't have had a better location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2009

Although these are not "suites" as we Brits know it (it was just like any other hotel room), the location of literally 1 minute away from Trevi Fountain was absolutely superb.
The room itself was clean & comfortable, with ensuite, wardrobe & dressing table. Breakfast - a VERY comprehensive continental one - was served outside on the terrace which was a real delight but, details when booking say that the breakfast could be served in your room but our room was just a standard double so there would have been nowhere to eat & had it been much colder this would have been a problem.
