“a hidden gem..”

we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and it was pleasant. the hotel is located on the 3rd floor of the building, and there are 10 of us in the group and we practically owned the floor. too bad the land lady did not speak any english but she always greeted us with a smile. the rooms were nice, better than i expected. the bathroom was also very nice. and we loved the free wifi connection. also breakfast was served at the cafe in front of the building, loved the coffee and croissants (you can choose any pastry). also there is a mcdonald's and a grocery shop nearby. location is good, it only took us 10mins to get to the vatican. too bad they did not have a reception area, but Nicola and Alessandro were very helpful and nice (you can communicate with them via email and phone). overall, this is a great b&b considering its price and location.

“nice and cosy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2010

We enjoyed staying there for five nights! We found the place quite easily, following the google map‘s directions (from the site) from Ottaviano metro station (about 10 mins walking).
The rooms are quite small but very nicely decorated, cosy and comfortable (especially the bed)! Bathrooms were also small but very clean, as the whole room was.
The owner left the place as soon as he gave us our keys but he left us his mobile number that we luckily didn’t need to use at all.
The only problem with this place was that they only gave us one set of towels and sheets which was very discomforting considering that we stayed five nights...
Everything else was perfect! Walking distance from nearly everything, we hardly ever used the metro, ( ok I have to mention, we really like walking!), shower ok, wifi ok!

“enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

We enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone. It's so affordable, clean, and convenient to the Vatican. I gave it a four star instead of five because the water in the shower would not get hot. it was luke warm to cold throughout each shower and I'm sort of a baby about that. If you can get over that then definitely book this hotel.

“they essentially take your money and run”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2010

We stayed there for two nights. We had conflicting directions from the train but eventually reached. The person who let us in processed took payment right then and seemed in a hurry to leave - we had to ask him to stay to provide the key to the advertised wireless internet. We were dependent on internet service for VOIP calls and for coordinating the details of this part of the trip. The internet did not function -- they tried blaming it on the "American computers" (an HP and a Lenovo), the service provider, and everything else -- they eventually promised to have it fixed later in the stay. We never heard from them again. In fact, when the room's partial roll of toilet paper was depleted, we still could not get Alessandro to respond. There was no response until we had finished our stay. After an unproductive exchange over refunding some of our money, we have decided to have the credit card company reverse the charges.

“B&B with Modern interior + clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2010

It can be quite a challenge to find the B&B. For convenience, it is better to request B&B to arrange for a taxi pickup.Situated on the 4th level of a residential building. It's basically a huge apartment with all it's space converted into many rooms.
The lift can probably fit 2 persons + a medium size luggage at a time.
Reception is not always open. It is better to check with B&B directly if there are people at the reception at the time you are checking-in.
The rooms are very clean and breakfast is served at a corner cafe across a street. The metro station is about 10mins' walk and there is a supermarket near the metro. Vatican City is about 15mins' walk.
The people at the B&B are friendly & helpful, thou they can speak little english.
If you are looking for a decent & clean B&B, this is the place.....
