“Terrible hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

The hotel is on the 4th floor of a residential building. It is a apartment divided 4 rooms. It is a small sign board of the hotel name infont of the main door entrance so we are very difficult to find the hotel, we asked twenty people how to get there from the Metro station but seems nobody know. Finally we arrival but nobody here, we can only call the staff from a notice stick on the door which have the contact number, we wait outside there around 15 minutes. The room is very small, we cannot move and put the luggage in the room. We stay this hotel four nights, we always cannot see any staff as we back the hotel in the evening time. We only stick a note on the door as we request something in the morning time. At the last day before, we back to hotel in the afternoon so we can meet the staff and ask him how to check out next day, he agree us the check out time 2:00pm in next day afternoon. However, when we back to hotel ,there have a staff (female) shouted us why so late to check out, we explained to her, but she just only warn us to pack the things in 10 minutes and also cannot close the door, eventhough we changed our clothes then just closed the door a few minutes, she knocked the door many time to chase up to leave. In the meantime she warn to us cannot close the door again, otherwise, she will charge one day more for the accomodation. We are very very disppoint so we quickly to pack our things. For breakfast, we have to walk out to the cafe, they give us the coupon, we can have 1 croissant, coffee and juice. All in all, it is quite dissapointing that this B&B failed to even do the basic right.I won't visit this hotel never again.!!!!

Dear Sir,
Alexander and his answer is the email I hope to make a particular contribution to future guests, trying to deny everything in a false and evil she has written about us.
For the benefit of the truth, tell you now that our check-out is generally at 12. Her the day of departure and without giving any warning, he returned to the room 16. This justified his behavior has produced two results: overtime for the gracious Lady Liliana in charge of cleaning the room, and delayed delivery for new guests.
With great sorrow to emphasize that we are used "very bad" because usually our guests are extremely attentive to the rules while she, probably because of too hot to Rome in this period, he forgot to leave the room by 11.
Nevertheless, we are sure to have maintained an exemplary education when suddenly and without reason, she has damaged the door of the room so abruptly closing it (maybe she wanted to hurry to go away?).
To conclude, I invite you to visit us again to see how good his predecessors have reviewed on our service.

“Could not find the hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

I booked one nght at this hotel and was told that I was to be in their new and updated hotel at Via della Giuliana, 80. I walked ages and ages from the train station and I was informed it was to be a short walk. I arrived to find a block of apartment buildings and not a hotel. I rang and the number would not connect. I then walked back to an internet place and emailed the hotel. I was informed that I had gone to the wrong address. I have the email confirmation of where I was supposed to be. I would be very wary booking this hotel.

“Lovely spot for a budget travel...felt like real Rome.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Lovely place for those on a budget, would definitely recommend!

Stayed there as a group of four girls, found the rooms lovely and not as small as I expected from the reviews. Clean bathrooms and sheets etc, really nice view from the balcony and cheap mini bar!! They didn't change our sheets, but as we were only there for three days it didn't bother us. I think you could leave them folded if you wanted them changed but I'm not sure.

It is actually an apartment block where they rent out rooms, but we thought that made it feel a bit more authentic, and meant you weren't trapped in the typical tourist scene.

A little bit confusing trying to find it, its quite near the vatican. We got the bus from Ciampino Airport to Termini Station (There's one for 6 euros but the one we got was only 3.90 and couldn't see the difference.) Then got the Metro (Line B) to Ottaviano. (Metros great value as its only 1 euro for 75 mins, wherever you go). We came out of the street entrance that faces a postcard stand thing, then headed straight until the traffic lights, where we turned right and headed straight down that road. We thought we'd headed the wrong way when we didn't see it for a while, but it is down there. Just riiiiight at the end.

When you do see it, I think the number is 15 for the buzzer but I can't remember. We didn't actually spot it but luckily someone came out at the right time to let us in. It was on the third floor, there's a notice just inside the elevator. Just in case anyone, like me, didn't read the small print, reception is only available 10 - 2. Luckily we arrived at the right time anyway, so not sure what happens if you arrive outside those times, but worth bearing in mind!

Cleaner was absolutely lovely, and very helpful, although she doesn't speak any English.

The free breakfast was great, light but tasty, although we did find it the cafe was closed on Sunday! Thats probably my only criticism, and possibly how hard the beds were. Didn't notice it going to sleep but we all felt stiff in the mornings!

There's a lovely restaurant just across the road, run by a sweet couple and serves great food!

Would definitely go back!

“DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

Anyone who finds this place acceptable has obviously never stayed in a proper hotel or B&B. What everyone forgets to mention in their review, is that this is not even a hotel/B&B. Someone has just rented out a floor in a residential building and is selling tiny rooms as hotel rooms. There are no common areas (lobby, etc.) and not even a reception service so if you are the only guests staying there (they only have a handfull of rooms), you will be all by yourself in this building in the middle of nowhere and it would be quite spooky. They charge you $120, but are too cheap to even leave a hallway light on so you step out of your room in complete darkness in the main hall and need to turn on the light. VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND. Location not well explained. No one knows the street and IT IS NOT 'a few meters from the metro'. It took us an hour to find it lugging our luggage and going this way and then that. If they had said it is far from the metro, we would have simply taken a taxi! It is a very deceptive place. It is not even close to the Vatican, which was the reason we chose the place. The main door to the building was locked. No one answered when we buzzed. Thankfully, someone leaving the building let us in. We then had to go to every floor to find out where the place is-- no mention of the floor # although they have a sign in the elevator asking you to be sure you close all elevator doors after use. We finally found the door to the place and once again no one answered when we buzzed-- no one was there to greet us even though we arrived during their 'business hours' (11am). We had to call on expensive mobile roaming minutes to contact the owner so he could send someone to let us in. The place is essentially a very narrow hallway with a few rooms. Very stuffy, no windows in the main hall. You feel you are entering a grave. They say you have free WiFi, but there is nowhere to sit and rest your laptop!! No bath towels given and when we asked for some we were told towels are not normally provided for one night stays!!! The attitude of the lady who greeted us was terrible. Zero customer service. She made a big fuss about the fact that we had not reserved for our 4-year old son, although we assured her he would be sleeping with us. She did not believe me when I told her he is 4 until I had to pull out his passport to prove it. I tried informing the owner about these issues, but he was not at all receptive. Terrible start to our trip, but thankfully we stayed at lovely hotels for the rest of our stay in Italy. Save yourself the ordeal and stay at one of the many decent hotels around.

Room Tip: Stay Away!!

“Beautiful Room with a View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

The location may be hard to find initially as no cab drivers know where it is - in a tiny street and within a residential building. but once you managed to find the hotel, it is conveniently located to the nearby Metro and Vatican City. The room design is indeed like the photos you see on the website ~ chic and pretty and there is also a modern spa shower in the bathroom. We like the idea of "staying like the locals" thus the old-fashioned elevator is a "highlight" during our stay there. The only down part is the breakfast which is served at a cafe nearby, mediocre pastry and coffee. Overall, We'll recommend this B&B to familhy and friends.
