“I feel duped by the 14 ranking on TripAdvisor.”

Say that you own a space on the 2nd floor (American 2nd floor, Italian 1st floor) in an anonymous building about five minutes from the Rome train station. How do you get people to come to your hotel? Do you put a ton of money into designing the it with high end furniture, Herman Miller, Eames, etc..., get the a first rate staff that are totally in tuned with your guest's needs, clean out the room so well that you don't question its cleanliness, provide local information (maybe a map) and use high end bath products? Or do you just go to IKEA, buy pseudo design hollow side tables, leave blond hairs on the sheets, keep the water pressure in the shower as low as possible and hire someone to write the crap out of the reviews in Trip Advisor? I think most honest people would the do the former. I cannot imagine SuiteDreams doing anything else but the latter. $242 US for one night in Rome and my bride was afraid of bed bugs. #14 should know that its guest do not want to hear a foreign Asian language (Vietnamese maybe) all night. I know its your hotel but if your guest's room is only 10 feet from the check in desk, please be considerate. (I'm Asian by the way)
I don't know why they didn't ask us how our trip was or if we needed a map. Or why they do not put the extra comforters in the closet in a plastic zip around bag so it doesn't smell like a cheap wood closet. Why even have pillows if they are going to so thin that all night, you toss and turn, thinking about the inevitable crick in your neck the next morning.

I don't know if I should blame this place for being fraudulent or Trip Advisor for allow the forum where a company clearly does not deserve a 14 ranking but somehow attains it.

Its not a terrible place for $100 a night. Its not a terrible place for a 500 ranking. But it is a terrible place for what I paid and what its ranked. Shame on you both.

Oh, even though its called Suite Dreams, not all the rooms are suites.

“A Fantastic Find”

Once you find where it is hidden - this hotel is a great base to see Rome from. The rooms are large, internet access is great, breakfast is very good - and the front desk staff couldn't help you better if they tried.

Located justa round the corner from Termin Station - is a perfect spot too. Lots of great restauarants in walking distance .

The best hotel on my Europe trip :)

“Unexpected”

We arrived in Rome for 2 nights after a 7hr drive incl a 2hr traffic jam, a detour due to a closed autostrade, and after getting lost for an hour. We were tired, stressed, cranky and hungry and it was 9.30pm at night. Piers could not have been more helpful. He very quickly gave us the rundown on the hotel (which is actually 2floors in a secured townhouse shared with 2 or 3 other hotels), a city map highlighting all the historical landmarks and the best routes as to how to get to them, and breakfast details. There is an antiquated lift which only fits 1 person and 2 suitcases, so Piers insisted on carrying my suitcase up the stairs, taking us to our room and showing us where everything was inside (we had the White room - the rooms on the first floor have letters rather than numbers, and on the second floor they are colours - the White room was fabulous!). Breakfast was cold foods, but plentiful and delicious, wifi free and with excellent coverage. The location is excellent - everything is within easy walking distance, but the hotel is far enough off the main streets to be quiet. There is no parking in the hotel, but it is next door to a parking garage which is locked up overnight and is reasonably priced (for Rome, anyway). All staff are very friendly and speak excellent English .

No complaints here - really happy we booked this hotel.

“Great little boutique hotel”

I didn't know what to expect with this hotel since it was a small property & other hotels were in the same building. What a pleasant surprise! From the minute we arrived at 10AM the staff was so friendly & accommodating. Our bags were put aside & the desk clerk gave us a map with suggestions of where to go. She told us to take a double decker bus tour since the price was the same for 1 or 2 days & we could use it the entire next day. Great suggestion for 2 weary travelers. The hotel is located in a very central safe area of Rome within walking distance to the tour buses, metro & train station. The room was lovely & larger than anticipated for a European hotel. Since we were on a side street no outside noises could be heard. The room even had wi-fi. Breakfast was included with cereals, meats, cheeses, fruit , bread & cakes. Delicious! The desk staff even made our reservations for a shuttle to the cruise pier in Civitavecchia. I would highly recommend this hotel.

“Wonderful!”

My colleague and I had the pleasure of staying at the Suite Dreams Hotel during the week of December 19. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with the utmost care. The owner/manager spent an exceptional amount of time with us going over the map and familiarizing us with the city. We were immediately made to feel at home. The hotel was well equipped with numerous travel books, DVDs and equipment to make the stay more pleasant. Requests for hair dryers and kettles were immediately satisfied. The rooms were spotless and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job and were exceptionally friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable. The automatic window shutters blocked out all the light and much of the street noise. The internet connection was perfect and speedy. There were ample clean towels and a fridge for refrigerated items. The television had an adequate number of English channels from the US and UK. The hotel is located on the second floor and there are only 15 rooms. It truly felt like you had a home in Rome. There was only one small negative item which may well be beyond the control of the hotel. The temperature in the shower was not constant. It would get really hot and then suddenly cold until it finally regulated itself. That certainly did not spoil the stay. My colleague and I travel to many hotels in many parts of the world. Suite Dreams is at the top of the list.
