The location couldn't have been better. Paolo, the host, was wonderful - knowledgeable, helpful, and had a desire to please the guests. Having been to Rome several times, I can honestly say this is a good value for the price.

We stayed at the B&B for 3 nights. The room was clean and functional. We really had the feeling that we were at home. Paola took care of the airport transfers, we arrived very late but he was very friendly and gave us the information we needed. He also gave tips where to go out for dinner for good prices. We visited Rome on foot, the B&B is perfectly located to go on foot to the Vatican, as well as to the north and the old part of the town.We were given an extra set of keys so we could leave our luggage behind the reception desk instead of having to take it along with us the last day. Paolo gave us his phone number in case we had a problem, and answered every call immediately. Even though we saw him only once, he was a great host!
It seems that a few of the people who reviewed this hotel were confused about what they were getting. It is a clean place, with air conditioning, free internet, and a nice bathroom. The location is perfect for walking almost anywhere in Rome, and the proprietor, Paolo, was eager to make phone calls on our behalf or help us plan things.
If you were planning to stay in a 5-star hotel, this isn't the same experience (and you shouldn't rate it on that scale). I also saw many comments about graffiti in the area... Rome is COVERED in graffiti. It's a sad truth, but it is nothing unique to this hotel's location. This was a good hotel experience for us!
We liked it at the Townhouse. It seems however that the reviews are really polarized! I guess if people are expecting another place they will not see the positives. The room was big enough and clean, the host organised a transfer from Ciampino, the breakfast in the Campo was good, we were given two sets of keys to leave our bags the day we checked out. It was safe and there was no graffiti we could see.
We would certainly go back as it was comfortable and well placed. It would be a little difficult to find a similar place at that price in that location.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. Our room was large with a king bed. AC worked beautifully. The building was clean, inside and out. Wi-Fi is free.
Yes, the front desk is never manned (at least we never saw anyone while we there other than the woman who cleaned our room). We enjoyed this as it felt very a little more like home and they were just a phone call away if needed.
Yes, the shower in the bathroom is tiny and there isn't a bathtub. Honestly though, we were too busy to notice... jump in, get clean, get out and go explore this fantastic city :)
Yep, the elevator is also tiny. The only time this was an issue was when our greeter, my girlfriend, me, and all of our luggage tried to fit in it when we arrived for check-in. Otherwise, we had it completely to ourselves every other time we used it.
The cafe around the corner where you get breakfast was wonderful! The breakfast is simple: juice, coffee, and a pastry, but it was honestly the best cappuccino I've ever had. The service was fantastic every time.
Yes, there is graffiti on the walls of the buildings on this street, but the front of the hotel was clean and there was no graffiti on the door. Graffiti seems to be a fairly common thing in Rome, regardless of location. Never once did her and I feel unsafe, and we were coming and going at ALL hours...
All-in-all, this probably isn't the place for everyone. If you're independent, don't care to be doted on, and have a good sense for adventure, this is the place for you.
