“It was fine”

My husband and I stayed here in May 2011 for 4 nights. Overall our experience was fine. The noise level (tvs!) was intense in the evening though, until around midnight. Even with earplugs I could not drown out the sound. We ended up watching the program "Wipeout" (dubbed over in Italian) to try keep sane until the neighbours hushed down. I really had a difficult time sleeping at this B&B.The location was fine as well. A short walk to St. Peter's, which was fantastic for us as we spent a great deal of time in that neighbourhood.

“A Great Place to stay in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My wife & I visited Greece & Italy June/July 2011 and the last 4 days were spent in Rome prior to our return to Australia. We pre-booked the B&B Alla Cupola accomodation from Australia as this was our last leg of our 5 week journey. It was here we first met our hosts Sergio & his wife after having driven from Venice to just south of Naples then on to Rome after a 20 day journey. After personnaly discussing with us what our interests were in Rome, Sergio then presented some good tips in public transport, places to visit with preferred times, and a number of walking tours. It was always great to come back to a clean room, fully maintained kitchen and fridge that more than catered for our breakfast needs after those long days in summer. After having travelled through some magnificent countries and having experienced various levels of accomadation we felt that Sergio & his wife went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The place is located in an area that is within walking distance of the Vatican City & public transport and presents a very safe area of accomodation. Both Sergio & Caterina spoke very good English which was something we found rare in Italy and this is something many of us do not consider when we plan our holidays. Having someone that you can easily communicate with and at the same time be spoilt with good care and meals can really make or break a good holiday. Lets face it when we do go on holidays so far away from home and where languages are not easily understood it is good to be able to have someone you can trust has your best interests in mind. My wife and I both agree that this stay would rank as one of the best accomodation deals on our 5 week journey, great value for money. Well done

Room Tip: Always read reviews this is one of the best tips we can give. We never had bad experiences to add wh...

“Great value + great host = great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

The B&B is not the type you usually see in the States. It's a two-bed apartment. The room we stayed in was very spacious (especially by European lodging standards) and A/C worked great! The wireless internet was FAST!! And the breakfast exceeded my expectations. Although there was no hot food, the variety of fruit, breads, pastries, cookies, juices, dairy products cold meats are more than enough for a filling and yummy breakfast! And it's obvious that the host restocks the fridge every day. Talk about the host, Sergio went out of his way to accommodate our crazy schedule and arranged taxis for us for both arrival and departure. The only thing some may find inconvenient but is totally fine with me is that while this place is practically next to Vatican, it's 20~30 minute away from downtown Rome. To me, Vatican is the best part of Rome, so I love the location! This is the best B&B I've stayed at. I'd recommend it to my friends and family in a heart beat!

“Sergio is very helpful and runs a very clean guest house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

The owner Sergio had a map and helped us with Rome's busses. The hotel is a little bit out of tourist area, but not far and easy 2-4 stops away on several bus lines. It is also close to the Vatican on the ST Peter's Cathedral side, not the museum side. Grab a cheap delicios lunch at Pizza Pollo around the corner and take back to your room.
