“Loved it and it was a great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

We were two middle-age couples from Texas, USA spending a week in Rome before cruising the Mediterranean on Royal Caribbean for 7 nights. Coming late by train from Florence to Rome, we realized we needed Roma Passes for the next day before shops opened. We contacted Vittorio, the proprietor, and that was the first of many wonderful experiences we had with him. He had the Roma passes we needed upon our arrival and we just bought them from him.
We had a quad room for the four of us (three regular beds and one roll-away). Three rooms shared two bathrooms (not huge but adequate) down the hall. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The location was an easy three short blocks from the Metro station with plenty of neighborhood shopping and restaurants. All the rooms opened up to a terrace with table and chairs. Vittorio brought in fresh pastries and fruit every morning in addition to the cereals, milk, juices, coffee, tea, and bottled water in the fully equipped and stocked kitchen. Vittorio was very professional while treating us in a warm and friendly manner. We never hesitated to ask Vittorio for recommendations or instructions.
If you want a place that's affordable, very clean, and convenient, then this is the place for you.

“The perfect place for a budget trip to Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

This place is actually a big apt with 3 or 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a big balcony. The host lives in another apt in the same block, upstairs from this one.

I couldn't imagine a better place for a visit to Rome. It really had everything we hoped for:
- The host is VERY nice and helpful. He answered all our questions, gave us a map of Rome and explained how to get around. He also offered free wifi. When we told him we didn't have a laptop, he said we could use his computer in his apt, if we wanted to.
- The apt is quite big. Our room was spacy and had lots of furniture in it: a desk with a mirror, a table and chairs, a closet, cupboards etc. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms are for sharing with the people in the other rooms but that was no problem for me since they were always very clean. There's a kitchen where you have breakfast in the morning (fresh croissants every day, coffee, tea, cereal, toast, jelly.. very ok for Italian standards) and where you can cook at night. There's pots and pans and everything you might need to have your own dinner.
- It is in walking distance of the Colosseum and very close by a metro station, so you can get to any site without going through too much trouble.
- There's a restaurant closeby (2 minutes walking) that serves good and affordable (I would even say cheap when you compare to other places in Rome) Italian food. It's also very nice to sit there since the other guests are actually Italian people and not just tourists.

If I would have to think of anything less positive about this place, then it would be this:
- Our bed was a couch bed and therefore not very comfortable. I probably wouldn't even have noticed if I wasn't 6 months pregnant at the time though..
- Our room was the only one that didn't give out on the terrace, so we couldn't access it. Luckily the nice girls in the other room let us go there through their room so we still got a chance to sit there and have a drink at night.

“Would have been good if not for the unhelpful host”

Booked this B&B after reading some great reviews on the tripadvisor. Overall the B&B is ok, spacious and clean room. 5-8mins walk to the nearest station, and about 20-25mins walk to Colosseum, there's a Macdonald's nearby about 5-10mins walk.

Cons:
Was told to approach them if we ever needed any help, but was faced with an unhelpful couple instead. The wireless extender on the 6th floor was obviously not working, and host just claimed he do not know anything, and refused to assist in resolving the issue. The wife was exceptionally rude too.
Compared to other B&B I stayed which the host was fantastic, this is disappointing.

Was there in winter, but heater in room worked only till 11pm at night. Did not have any aircon in room too so would probably not be comfortable in summer I guess.

Will not come back here again.

“Nice stay, a little loud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2010

Two families traveling together, total 4 adults and 4 teens. We stayed 3 nights at the B&B. Easy walk from the Metro station, maybe a 5 minute walk once you know where your going. The B&B is located in an apartment building which has a buzzer intercom system to be let in (you get your own key once you check in for the main door). We had the whole apartment to ourselves since we were a large group and this worked out fabulously. The balcony was very nice but unfortunately it was too cold for us to use it. The apartment was very nice, small kitchen and bathrooms but that is normal for Europe. There is an expresso machine, toaster oven, microwave, refrig. and oven along with all the utensils, plates, cups, etc. Water, juice, milk, cereal and packaged pastries are provided. The owner will bring up a small plate of fresh pastries every day. Unfortuantely we were always leaving for the day of sightseeing when these were brought up so we ate them in the evening upon our return.

My only complaint, and this isn't the owners fault really, is that we only had one good night sleep. The first night we were woken up about 11 p.m. by someone ringing our doorbell (this person was inside the building and actually at the apt. door). We didn't open the door but tried to speak to him thru the door. He was saying something about being "Official" and the rest was in italian. After he rang the doorbell for about 2-3 minutes and yelling at us he left and never returned. At midnight we woken up again by our doorbell ringing and there are two young English speaking girls at the door looking for the owner of the B&B.

Third night of our stay and there is a lady outside the building ringing every buzzer and yelling "Please let me in". This continued from 3-3:30 a.m.

All in all a great place to stay for the cost and I would recommend it especially for groups because they can all stay in one place.
