“Great location, price and host”

Bibi e Romeo's was a great choice for staying in Rome. It's in a cool old palace a few blocks from the Vatican and Romeo is super helpful. There are a couple of affordable buses nearby that will take you to all the main tourist attractions, and the B&B is also near the metro. Romeo will draw you a map of everything you need to see, including free sights that only locals like him know about! He also recommended an amazing restaurant a few blocks away called Dino e Toni, which I highly recommend -- it was probably the best meal I had in Italy.

Romeo leaves you yogurt, cereal and his wife Bibi's delicious homemade cakes/tarts for breakfast. There's also juice, milk, tea and coffee (I was really proud of myself that I could make it myself with his neat old-school espresso machine, after he showed me). There is wifi and a computer available for use.

The only very minor complaint I had was that my room was a bit chilly because the heater is on a timer to only be on for a few hours at night and in the morning. Although, I say that with the caveats that a) I tend to always feel colder than most people and b) I was there during Rome's snowstorm of the century and it's not usually that cold out during Roman winters. I would definitely recommend this place and I really felt like Romeo made every effort to make sure I had a nice time!

“Cramped, poor breakfast, expensive”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I tried very hard, but I could not bring myself to like this B&B at all. Considering it was the most expensive room of our 3 week trip as well (although I very much accept that our stay was over New Year's and this was already the best priced room we could get). This B&B was quite honestly not up to standard.

What I did not enjoy:
1. Size of the room: I think we had the D'Augustino room (not sure of the name). It was SMALL. It didnt even have space for a table. You can imagine what a nightmare it was when it came to packing. Oh sorry, there WAS a table. A folding sort. Which collapsed when I tried to assemble it. Not enjoyable.

2. Temperature: it was COLD and the room was not heated for most of the day. We spoke to Romeo about the lack of heating, and he told us that he was not allowed to heat the room after 12 midnight (If this regulation really exists in Rome...). Granted he then provided us the aircon remote, which improved things slightly. Still, not enjoyable waking up to a freezing room.

3. Poor breakfast: I really don't understand people raving about Bibi's cakes. They were nice, but they were over-baked... Cakes are also not breakfast. There was not even cheese, or cold meats, or bread and spreads. Nothing. I wanted tea. I helped myself to what was labelled "assam tea". It was MINT tea. Not a pleasant surprise.

4. Bad toilet design: the toilet bowl was on a raised platform which was poorly located. As such, when the floor gets wet, I almost tripped a few times getting out.

Now, the room was clean. Romeo was generally helpful (although he was not all that helpful when we needed to print our vatican museum reservations urgently; we had to traipse around the district before finding a shop that did it for 3 EUR for 2 pathetic printouts), The bottled water was nice. The bed was also quite comfy. But that doesnt change the fact that at 100 EUR a night, the small, almost hostel-like room and breakfast was extremely disappointing

Dear Kim J Tan,
I think the problem is you and not our B & B 'cause you problems created by the time of booking as last minute for the night of New Year and perhaps the fact that you were desperate, and that' your revenge.
1)
Our breakfast is absolutely 'Italian so do not serve cheese, salami, and bread, and this' is written on our website and inside that you received in the mail before booking and we have no intention of making an international breakfast' cause we're Italian and our customers choose us for this to feel at home and try our specialties'.
2)
The heating and 'was great for everyone and it' impossbile keep the heating turned on the H24 and 'another one of your problem and not ours also we give you the remote control of warm AC.
3)
The kitchen and 'equipped with a large table and chairs where everyone is comfortable breakfast, and room and board and very convenient use by all and I do not know how you managed to break it (without even telling us) maybe used to support the above cases.
4)
The B & B and 'equipped with computers available for guests and WIFI but not' to hold a printer,
and 'your problem provide print your voucher in advance for the Vatican Museums for which we did not know anything.

5)
The bathroom and 'regular bathroom with toilet and shower with a large window that overlooks our private courtyard very quiet and reserved.
6)
You are wrong because the person 'in two days of living I have never said anything to my questions and i ask you if everything was ok and you answered "Tanks to was Great!" And you do not come from England ..... . but from China!
7)
This review and 'clearly an annoyance and not a real review and not understand why' TripAdvisor enables completely unjustified attacks similar
8)
Next time avoid a B & B and look for a good 5-star hotel and specify your requests!

“BiBi & Romeo's................a gem in the eternal city”

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely B&B in January 2012. The B&B is in a great location and is very easy to get to: we took a metro from Termini station to Ottavino station and from here walked roughly 10 minutes to the B&B. It's only 10 minutes walk away from the Vatican and the neighborhood where the B&B is located is quiet and safe. On arriving we met Romeo who was very nice and welcoming, he was the perfect host and his English was perfect. He showed us around our bedroom and shared kitchen and explained the facilities available to us. Then we were given yummy homemade cake while Romeo helped us plan our trip in Rome, we only had a day and half in the city so Romeo's advice here was very welcome and he recommended what attractions were free to visit and some nice restaurants. The accommodation itself is lovely, perfect for a city break since you are unlikely to be at the accommodation all day! Romeo's wife who we never met supplied us with really tasty nutella baked treats each day which were a little taste of home.

What makes this B&B different from others is the personal touch. We could not recommend this B&B highly enough. Hope to be back again soon

“Home in Rome”

My first trip to Rome was in January 2012. From start to finish this was an excellent choice of lodging. The connection they have to private airport transportation with Renato (driver) was wonderful. He had lots of good advice as we drove into town. Romeo met the car and continued the orientation to Rome transportation and gave a very helpful map. The room was clean and quiet. I had a shelf in the refrigerator with yogurt and bottled water already waiting. The location to the Vatican and the fresh market across the street can't be beat. I especially appreciated my closeness to the former, when I had an early morning tour of the Vatican museums. As many people have said the fresh baked desserts morning and evening are the best. Bibi even baked around my dietary restrictions. Highly recommended especially for solo travelers or couples.

“excellent”

Clean and comfortable. Really good to have access to kitchen facilities - coffee was excellent and so were the gorgeous home made cakes always on offer. Each room has a compartment in the fridge and Romeo also supplies bottles of water and yoghurt which you can just help yourself to.
Romeo's advice on where to go and how to get there was invaluable and so was his advice on where to eat - every single restaurant that he recommended was superb - inexpensive, local food and friendly service although you have to be prepared to queue as booking in advance is not an option in most of them. They are well worth queueing for! The only place we ate at that Romeo did not recommend was so disappointing and we were very properly ripped off!
It is a bit of a walk into the old city centre but the metro station is nearby and so is the bus stop. We walked mostly as it was such a pleasant walk, although we did get lost every five minutes.
Contact Romeo on how to travel from the airport to his B&B as we went the long way around.
