We had a glorious stay in the deluxe suite. It is clean-clean-clean and so bright and airy. Nadia's breakfast in the room is a feast. Wireless internet can be iffy, but I took my laptop to the reception and got a connection. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the Vatican, and has many nice and reasonable restaurants nearby.

We're returning to Rome in September, and are planning to return!

Unfortunately, We were part of the bunch that got stuck in Rome while the volcano in Iceland was causing havoc in Europe.

Fortunately, we got stuck in Rome and at Fleur de Lis.

We have stayed in Rome before, but we never enjoyed our hotel as much as we have this time. The building is old (15th century from what Nadia told us), so its not as nice as it would be at a five star hotel, but the rooms are very nice.

Each room has its own corresponding bathroom. The rooms are very warm, well taken care of, clean and quiet. The hotel itself is located in a quiet part of Rome (near the Vatican).

There is a Metro stop right around the corner and it is close to pretty much everything.

The staff is amazing! Nadia helped us out big time with our distruptions. She made our stay stress free. Antonio was also very friendly and plesant.

The breakfast was very good, better than most BB style places (cheeses, breads, cappucinos, cereal, jam, hard boiled eggs, etc.)

The rooms also have wireless internet, which also helped quite a bit since it was easier to rebook our flights this way and find other interesting places to visit.

The bottom Line: Absolutely best bang for the buck we have so far found in Rome in terms of accommodations. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms.

The entrance to the Fleur de Lis is a little off putting, but once inside and up the stairs to the property, the presntation and comfort is really good. Nadia and Antonio are excellent hosts and the bedroom and bathroom were both up to a good standard. Breakfast was tasty - collected on a tray and eaten in our room with the window open, sun streaming in and a view of the pretty church opposite. Less than 5 minutes walk to St Peter's. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Perfect. We will be returning, soon we hope!!
