Our 17 year old was singularly unimpressed with the nondescript brown wooden door opening directly onto the street which was the entrance to the apartments. By the time he'd got to our 4th floor rooms, however, experienced the space, the cool and eyed the satellite TV and hi-fi, his view had changed completely. This was an ideal first stop on our Italian safari, so close to the Pantheon and central to all we wanted to see. We loved waking to the smell of roasting coffee wafting from the Cafe d'Oro directly opposite and soon found that popping down in the lift for a quick morning coffee and brioche was the only way to start the day. And we loved Antonio's family-run restaurant 25 metres up the street for dinner at night. A supermarket was also nearby.
We had a large main bedroom with king-sized bed, aircon and lots of hanging and cupboard space. The teenagers bedroom was small with two single beds, fan and adjoining room with toilet and wash basin. There was a separate, fully-equipped kitchen with a little balcony for drying clothes, big bathroom with shower and bath, entrance-dining room and separate lounge-TV-family room. Roomy, clean, cool and airy with windows with shutters in each room - all that we could want. Maurizio, the manager, met us on arrival; explained everything, arranged some visits for us, gave us his mobile phone number in case we needed anything or further information and organised the taxi for us on our last day. A charming, helpful and approachable man with excellent English.
