Indeed Hotel Diana deserves it's great reputation. The staff is just perfect and amazingly helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Heating system works well and shower in our room was great. Breakfast has all you need to charge the batteries for a walking day on the ruins of Pompei ( which is 5 min walking distance).

Four of us stayed in this hotel in March 2009. It is absolutely perfect for a day of touring Pompeii. It is near the train station, the ruins, the city center, and the bus stop to visit Mt. Vesuvius. The staff were all extremely helpful. From serving us beer to recommending which train to take they did everything we asked (Thanks Nadia!).The orange trees and breakfast are also a nice addition.

Some concerns that might bother other people: the rooms are painted very brightly and we thought the walls/doors were a bit thin and didn't block sound well (like almost every other hotel).

As others have said make sure you get off at the right train stop! We did not and had a nice walk through the Italian country side in the rain.

All in all I would stay here again in a heart beat!

This hotel was one of our favorites during our stay in Italy! The people at the front were extremely friendly and were helpful with looking up train times for us. It was walking distance from the train station which was incredibly helpful since we went to both Sorrento and Naples from Pompei. We loved the colors in the rooms! Our favorite part was waking up in the morning to freshly grown tangerines and oranges and the fresh squeezed juices at breakfast! with the cheese, meat and sweet breads....lovely!!!!! free computer access was also a huge positive! fantastic hotel!! very spacious rooms. i don't think I have any negatives to say! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

We visited Pompeii for a day, stayed at the Diana Hotel. They were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Continental breakfast did not have any hot items such as eggs etc but there was a good assortment of fruits, yogurts, cold cuts etc. Very neat rooms all fixtures worked well. It was very affordable, close enough to the ruins and restaurants. Don't make the mistake we made and get off the train at the first Pompeii stop. You will have a long walk if you do instead of 100 meters.
